Custom Ships

Deleting

Ok, when I want to permanently delete my custom ships, do I just delete the .xml file or do I delete the .shipcfg files? Are the .shipcfg files the my Documents\My games\Galciv2 only for custom ships or for precanned ships as well.

Worry if I posted this in the wrong forum.

You can delete anything in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2 without it damaging your installation.  That's why that stuff is there and not in the directory where GalCiv2 is installed.

You should delete both the .xml file and the .shipcfg files; otherwise you'll have unused files lying around on your hard drive.  If you're playing a metaverse game, though, they are stored in the My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\Metaverse\ships directory.

Archronus the files in my Documents\My games\Galciv2 are for custom ships only. Cari nearly said it and i know (via telepathy) that she meant too!

Ok thank both of you very much. I thought so as well, as the .shipcfg files matched the .xml files.

I still can't believe that the devs are actually answering our questions, I feel special This is indeed a special community...
