1.0x saved game after 1.1 update?

Just started Dread Lords campaign and 1.1 is almost here...

Hi I am wondering could my started campaign in 1.0x continue in 1.1 with the new features of the latest update? If not I'll just finish the sub-campaign, and update afterwards. Question for people who played around with beta or in the know:) Thanks
