AlienGuiseT.M. Disability to change wallpaper after deinstallation

Hello,
I've tried the AlienGUIse Theme Manager (which came with the invader theme) and after a while, i decided to deinstall the software. Everything went fine this far, but now I'm not able to change my background anymore. In the sub-menue display options Every option besides Color and Cusomize Desktop has been greyed out.
How could this happen and what should i do to restore the original status?
