Cheat Mod not working?

I've added the cheat to the shortcut command, but pushing the CTRL key and buttons in the game does nothing? Have i missed something or done it wrong?

Please paste the "start in" address line you are using.

1. Go to your GalCiv2 directory, which for me is E:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2

2. Make a shortcut to GalCiv2.exe (not GC2Launch.exe, which is the where the shortcut that the game puts on your desktop points)

3. Right click on the shortcut, go to Properties. In the Shortcut tab of Properties, there's a field named "Target" that has the value

"E:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\GalCiv2.exe"

Change this to

"E:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\GalCiv2.exe" cheat

With the word cheat, all lowercase, outside the quote marks.

4. Double click on this shortcut, start a new (non-metaverse) game, and Ctrl-U, Ctrl-M, and all the rest will be enabled.

This should work, let me know if it doesn't.
