Is this a bug?

Okay, I'm playing the Dark Yor on Challenging. I've been the major power for a while now and I bought every other nations fleet of them entirely so I didn't have to bother the long slog of building my own. Except for the ships I already have. Anyhoo, thats like, abit off topic. Basically, I have a huge problem which I think is a big bug. I bought all the resource stations on the game from all the other empires. Dunno whether this is relevant but shortly after the sector ownership thing on the mini map shows purple covering the entire map. And all of the planets are possible candidates for defection. I have loads of systems just defecting evry turn and the way it's going the whole galaxy is up for defection. Yet I have no influence starbases and loads basically no influence structures on the planets and I also have planets defecting which are no where near my empire. I just don't know wot to do? Except reload save game and hope it doesn't happen again.

Please check your influence ability in the Civ Manager "Stats and Graphs" screen. It is likely you have bought one or more influence resource starbases. These increase your influence ability. I'm not sure what size map you are on, but on smaller maps, you may have enough influence to cover most if not all of the map - it is possible.

I am assuming the planets are defecting to you?

Please let us know what your influence ability is, and post a debug.err file. A screenshot of the map would be helpful if possible. We can then determine if it's a bug or you're just lucky

Thank you.

Okay, my influence ability is at 203% and I'm playing a gigantic map. And yes I bought all the influence stations in the game. All the resources were built apon so I gave a few hundred thousand BC and bought every one of them in the game. But I find it odd that this would make take over the whole map. Seems a bit odd to me. Also It won't seem to let me take a screen shot. But all of the planets are on the little rebellion icon. I have purple covering the entire map though my empire goes straight through the middle of the map almost in a thin long line. If that influence (borders) were increased by 203% that might well cover the map. Though don't know how it works, assuming that it's maximises your borders.

Okay, what I forgot when I bought peoples entire military, I bought all their stations too. Not just the miners. This combined with all the resources has given me huge influence. When I destroy all the resource stations, I no longer am controlling the whole galaxy and some races even have a border of their own So cool, it's not a bug, it was skill. Investment, this makes me feel so like america buying all the oil lol.
