Bert Monroy makes images for the sake of doing so. When you try to be so representational and realistic, as he is, creativity and originality are lost.


Ya know, that statement makes absolutely no sense to me...
Because he tried to be so "Representational and Realistic" I think it speaks volumes of his *Creativity and Originality*

He created a scene of a very real location, he made it as realistic as he possibly could without just taking a "picture" = Creativity

It is "original" because even if you took a picture, you will never be able to capture that exact scene..*ever*

Many artists do the very same thing...and I would argue that what Bert tried to do was exactly what artists try to do most of the time...digitally or on canvas..
For an example..why are "things/people" used as models for "art" puposes?

I guess I dont have to point out that I completely disagree..LoL

I saw a photo-realistic painting of the same type subject done with airbrush (not digitally) The thing was 6 feet wide. It was truly awesome. I could never figure out how someone could accomplish something like that without it being a photograph. Your guy certainly has talent.
