I need help changing docks/themes for ObjectDock

Hi there!
If anyone is available to help me I would really appreciate it. I don't know how to install new docks, themes or icons onto Object Dock. I have Icon Packager. There doesn't seem to be a way to open a zip file with objectdock. I'm not sure which folder to put new icons or docks into.
Please help!

Hey,
extract files then copy files to...backgrounds to the background folder in objectdock....Icons to crystalized, last or create a new folder in objectdock and copy the new I cons there... That should do it.

Ok, since I dont have a few of the folders mentioned I'll post the link to the dock I wish to install in hopes you can give me a "step-by-step" on its installation so I can get this thing working.

Again, any help would be appreciated.

IP dosent work for docks.

Now *there* is a feature request. If OD+ and IP are installed . . . . have OD+ Icon browser browse the IP themes.

Is it too late to add this to the 1.3 build?

Well if you would do me a favor and download the link I provided. All of the files are .png's so having them all in the images folder doesnt help me much as I'm unsure which .png's go where. When I try to select a theme (using the background.ini provided with the download placed in the theme folder) it gives me a "you have selected nothing to apply" message.

I'm not sure if this file isnt set for an "extract and use" type of thing and needs more configuring or not. If someone could just make an "Idiots Guide" for how to use this file I would appreciate the help.

Hi Finger78!
When you have downloaded the dock, unzip it and put the unzipped map in:Object Dock Backgrounds.
When you download icons in the object dock category in Wincustomize, unzip them and then just take the png and drag it to Object Dock, just the main OD.
Iconpackager is something complete different, you can't use that for ODicons. Hope it helps!

I threw together a little guide for you .

Step 1 - Extraction

Step 2 - Immigration

(I am not sure of the exact path. Like I said, I move my programs )

Step 3 - Configuration

Step 4 - Selection

Step 5 - Application

Step 6 - Beautification

I really hope that helps. If you don't understand something, feel free to ask questions .

That was really an idiots guide... I needed it thats I got it working great, the sub-zip file in the main GT3.zip (GT3 DX.zip) looks even better but I had 1 small question about it. When I extract the files and I have the main GT3 DX folder but then 2 seperate .png's (plus and minus) are outside of the folder and I'm not quiet sure if or where those 2 files belong. I hope you can clue me in.

While people seem so helpful I'll go a little off topic on 2 things:
1: How do you change Windows icons (like under my computer the HD icon) windows only looks for .ico type files and the .png's I have and want to use wont work, is there anyway I can convert the png's ro a useable file or another way I can use the look?

2: Keikonium - I was wondering where you got your Firefox Icon, and I was wondering if you had the full set for those Adobe Icons (I looked and didnt see those) I mainly need the Icons for:

Adobe Photoshop CS2 & Imageready CS2 Icons
Adobe Illustrator CS2 Icon
Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 Icon

And if possible a matching set of Macromedia Studio 8 icons =P

Thanks again to everyone that has helped to resolve this issue for those of us that are new to all this.

To answer your question about GT3 DX.zip, just follow the exact same process . Plop those + and - images into the GT3 DX folder. If it asks to overwrite, saying yes should cause no problems. Not sure why they were on the outside .

Yes there is . Windows XP will only use .ico files. PNG doesn't work (sadly). So I have found this awesome program called Axialis IconWorkshop: Link. (Hopefully I can post links to other software :S). It can convert .png into flawless .ico images. It does so much, it can be kinda complicated. I HIGHLY recommend looking at the tutorials on the site for converting >_>.

Hopefully that answers all your questions ^_^. I am so glad I finally helped someone !

1st step: Download and save .zip (zipped folder) file.

2nd step: Right click, Extract All...

3rd step: Once extracted right click and copy the file folder.

4th step: On the left of the window, click Local Disk (C:), If this bit on the side does not come up, right click and enable it. UNLESS however you had saved it to somewhere else in the installation progress, then go there in stead.

5th step: Click Program Files (86x)

6th step: Click Stardock

7th step: Click ObjectDock Free

8th step: Click Backgrounds

9th step: Click either Tiles OR Zoomers

10th step: Right click, paste.

11th step: Close the window

12th step: Right click on your ObjectDock

13th step: Either: i) Click Settings...

ii) Or if comes up with a popup menu (with arrow), mouse over and click Settings...

14th step: Click Appearance

15th step: Click Change Background

16th step: It should be there, you can now select it.

Have you noticed:

1. The age of the post?

2. How needlessly and ridiculously large your font is, and how annoying that is?
