So You Thought Your Phone Bill was Bad?

I just had to write about this one; A Malaysian man, after having his father die and having his phone line then disconnected and settled, received a phone bill for the equivalent of $218 trillion!  How on earth could a phone company seriously send a bill like that to someone?!  It isn't yet apparent if it was just a billing glitch or if the line had been illegaly used.  I'm not sure how one racks up a $218 trillion phone bill though.  Sounds like it would take some talent.

Even if illegally used, it's just not possible. Even at $.50 a minute you could only rack up a little over 1/4 a million in a year if you used it every minute of the day for an entire year and that's not excluding the minutes given with the plan.

But you also have to consider that these things are automated. Printed by a Computer and probably manually put in an envelope but not looked at and mailed. Still they can't really charge the guy.

Ain't that the truth! It would be interesting to see if they back up there threat of prosecution or if they will just admit the crazy mistake. I can't even imagine seeing a number like that on a bill though!
