The log actually implies you're pressing the exit button which is of course not the case.

But looking at your driver date: Driver Date: 4/15/2003 17:40:56

That was before DirectX 9 and unfortunately the game requires video drivers that support DirectX 9 (9c to be exact).  Try to get an upadte to that driver and it should be fine.

Yikes! your graphic card drivers are very old --- update them if possible - ( i see it is an internal Intel chipset - This may be hard to do....you may want to look at getting a standalone card)

I alos see your system memory being reported a s 504MB - this is a bit strange - usually it is 512MB - or a value dividable by 32. You may want to run a mem test to see if you ahve a bad stick - that would definately cause issues.

i tried to download a 81.98 forceware driver but it says i do not have the hard ware to install it or some bs like that...

That's not strange at all. Onboard video cards usually use system memory, so the memory reported by the system has to be less than the physical amount of RAM installed. So this appears to be an 8MB on-board video card, and the machine physically has 512MB of RAM.

Best thing to do is get a new video card, preferably with 128MB of on-board RAM. Should be pretty cheap to find an nVidia 6600 or 6800 right now, since those are like 3-4 generations behind (I have a GeForce 6600 w/ 128MB and I have no issues with GalCiv2).

its my drivers really. they said they couldnt find any drivers complatiple with my system, and so the driver update did not go.

Did you run the windows driver update? it's a load of BS. It refused to update my ancient drivers, had to do it manually. Seeing as it's intel, you'll have to do a bit of googling. And get that memory looked at, it really is weird to have 504m

um, know where i can get the windows driver update? or how i can go about looking for it?

Thanks for pointing out the obvious Drawfour - I stand corrected. [blush] It's just that I don't see much 'shared video' memory anymore with the clients I am now dealing with - I mostly work on Servers and high end WS for the past few years - I totally forget about that. My bad.

Definitely time to invest in a new card with onboard memory....can probably pick up an older 128MB one up for under $40 online...maybe even under $30....
