Just buy a PS3, they are going to sell for $500...$600 tops. I would never pay that much for a game system...but it does make for a cheap blu-ray dvd player...if you have money to burn.

Yikes. Hardly seems worth it. $400 for a movie player, plus the movies themselves, which will be expensive themselves. Imagine what else you can do with all that money...

And the bundled DRM makes them utterly worthless!

Thats Betamax vs VHS dude....8-track is audio. Funny thing with Blueray vs HDDVD, it is the same two companies that were in the Betamax vs VHS war and if history does repeat itself, we will be seeing HDDVD win this one.

Yo Phill666, I did not say Betamax VS 8track....Both were formats that competed and lost to the compotition. I said Beta max 8 track battles..Not as in Beta against 8 track...Dude Im like 34 years old...I think I know which format each one was from....

I watched 8track battle casset and then the Betamax after VHS...and neither one in the Beta and VHS was superior...The supierier format was LaserDisc...But that never took off either...And it had beautiful clarity compared to anything at the time for years too come......I was like 11 years old when I saw my first laserdisc movie...It was Benjie the Dog, and Herbie the Love Bug....On a 48inch projection TV...Then we played Atari on it...Pitfall was soooo dope......

Your right Drop125....only thing was LaserDisc never could RECORD anything on TV/Cable - just play back - but the picture was so superior!
