RightClick 1.2 released

For Object Desktop users..

http://www.objectdesktop.com

Stardock has released RightClick 1.2.  RightClick is a program that enables users to replace the right-click desktop menu in Windows XP.  RightClick menus can have short cuts, data, even widgets embedded into them.

RightClick 1.2 takes all the internal improvements that have been made to ObjectBar and other related technology and integrates them into the program.  It supports embedding of widgets and should resolve the problem in which some users lost their menus during a system crash or other unexpected power loss.

It's available on Object Desktop.

thanks for this release...much appreciated...apart from Windowblinds itself, this is my favourite and most used component of Object Desktop

Any chance of making it accept .png images?

along the same lines as liquidguru, this is my most-used prog. and it's the best kept secret of Object Desktop . . . although, it's not really a secret.

Dont see any difference but I have to admit this is my most used app- it never crashes and is invaluable.

I'd still prefer that the text in menu items without any icons would be aligned with the text of menus that have icons.

yup same here, but i took the time to find all the icons for the entries without the icons, but a spacing would be better if there is no icon/.

You could always use a transparent icon, but I suppose that isn't the point eh .

Seeing as I don't have Stardock Central, I can't get this . Congrats on another release tho, 1.10a will still be used over here ^___^.

Also, any chance for the option to edit other right click menu's?

In the popup.obskin file [General] section, edit with notepad and adjust the "ItemTextOnlyBuffer_LeftOfText=##" number to make it happen. Takes a little trial and error to get it perfect.

This is probably old news to many but one of the ways to "create" or "save" skins is to set the skin to "Current Windowblind" then go into your "Object Desktop\RightClick\Skins" directory and create a new folder with the WB's name (any name will do). Then go to the "Object Desktop\RightClick\Skins\WindowBlindSkins\CurrentSkin" folder and copy the contents of both sub-folders into the new folder you created (you don't need the ImportedThemeInfo.ini file). You will now have a new skin with the Windowblind name in your skins list. Then you edit it as mentioned above to get the text to line up and viola in 5 or 10 minutes you've got a new RightClick Skin. Only thing is I can't get the seperator line to work this way.

I should've probably mentioned that each skin will have a different (slightly) setting.

RIGHT CLICK NEEDS .PNG SUPPORT!!!
Right click's skin editor has the following error on opening: "CLR error: 80004005". I see that .NET 2.0 Final is needed for it to work. I have uninstalled all .NET and reinstalled .NET Framework 2.0 to no avail. I realize I can still make a skin with the method Lantec has described, but, but, but it should at least open for me!

Can I say again....RIGHT CLICK NEEDS .PNG SUPPORT!!!

Thanks for all your time and effort into this wonderful product...(a little appreciation is good for the developers, right? )

I look forward to seeing .png support!! Perdy Please, with the whip topping and cherries and all that on top!?

I noticed that I cant seem to recolor and save the separator anymore. But I think it was this way before the new version came out..so im not sure if its a WB 5 change. The separators are always TGA extentions but Im recoloring, then saving as TGA but they will not save correctly..the menu comes up without any separators. Which isnt a big deal. But I know it was possible to do this before as I have some with red separators.

Any plans on a gallery for Right Click skins ?

I've made several myself but im thinking that others might like some different ones. Depending on the WB skin...some of the right click menu's arent that legible ..with some of the transparent blinds( I ran into this today ) the right click menu was a white skin with white font ...I just made a new one in blue that was more suitable. But you see my point ? Ive run into this quite often. Plus sometimes its nice to have the right click be different from the blind ..

Just a thought..

I've got a few RC Skins to upload too. Also have some "bubbles" or overlays for IconX that there's no Library for (I tried one time to upload and got a polite no go). I know some of the DX guys could probably use a place for uploading scripts or pieces thereof. Maybe just an "Miscellaneous OD" Library would do the trick for some of these odds & ends.
