Flyout Menu Thumbnails

im curently using a cool flyout menu to access my vid files on my external hard drives over a network. Normal file browsing thru the flyout menu is fine, great infact but when it comes t file that it can read the thumbnail of it goes slowly as it has to read the file information to get the thumbnail ie with an avi file or image. Is there anyway for it to just read the icon for the file instead, like with normal files?

yep, right click on the dock, open up Dock Settings, go to General then click Advanced Options and uncheck 'use thimbnails to represent images placed in dock'
