Warrior Women! Enough Already!

Ya can't swing a dead cat without women in armour getting in the way

While I adore women, women of all kinds and body types, big boobs,. little ones, small women amazon women {ok get the point?}

In the last 20 or so years we have seen the emergence of women as warrior babes, while I love looking at a gorgeous women in tight slinky pelts and such, I DO NOT want one watching my back in times of war, It was hard enough for a man to handle a sword let alone some skinny babe with wrists as think as a small chicken bone, swinging to to and fro.

While I do not doubt there was the very very occasional woman that could swing a sword I am sure she was not a size 2, totally not a scar anywhere to see, with skin as smooth as a babies butt.

While I know fantasy is just that, there is some things I just cannot let by. I started watching dragon king, dark kingdom last night, and yep there she was, tall, blond, skinny in a wolfs pelt, never been beat in battle, PLEASE!!!!

Do not even get me started on Xena warrior babe.

Superman, yep here came superwoman.

Batman, along came bat-girl in super tight outfits.

ENOUGH ALREADY WITH WOMEN GOING off to war, fighting the good fight, all so she can turn all girly at the last moment and have what else? A MAN rescue her.

My Wife was pissed that they bumped Stargate for that, so we did not watch it.

! Elie, you've got me giggling here! I love a man to rescue me anytime and I do really like macho guys (with heart and not full of themselves) but sometimes we need those Amazon Warriors. I saw the series last night too, it's interesting so far.

I guess they have to get with the times and include women. We can do it but we still love to be all girly and swoon in your arms, at least I love to be!!

Wow,  loved this article MM! had me giggling too!  and ditto to what Forever says,  I too love to be girly and swoon...and all that stuff!

Remember though,  waaaaaaaaaaaay back we had Annie Oakley,  and many other western female heroines...I know,  you'd rather see "Kitty"  ( Amanda Blake) than Annie O.,  still isn't there something cool about a babe that can shoot like a guy, ride a horse,  and swim like a fish?

I'm all for butt kicking females. I don't know how realistic it is but it's still entertaining.

Now go sit down before I have to hurt you!

Given one of your latest articles - YES!

I don't mind it as long as it is realistic. The problem is the women in most of these productions are caked in makeup, can't fight to save their lives, etc. I have even seen "warrior women" in fantasy art with... get this... tan lines. I forget if it was Frazetta or which, but I've seen it more than once. Some woman swinging a sword that no man could lift, topless in the middle of a battle, hair obviously professionally done and tan lines. Oh, and don't get me started on the artists who paint them with a bikini wax...

The scantily clad thing is a dead give away, anyway. The last thing you want in a real battle, or just out in the woods, for that mater, is your private parts exposed. I guess it doesn't sell to the 12 year olds, though, when the lady is wearing real armor...

I don't know, there is something about those leather-clad beauties that gets my blood pumping. It called 'fantasy' for a reason, you know

Who cares? She was freaking awesome! She had such a poor background that she was basically sold into slavery and suffered terrible abuse as a child, but she grew up to be an amazing American historical figure who set up many charities and broke through a lot of stereotypes abiout women of the day. She was adopted by Sitting Bull! How cool is that? Plus, she married the man of her dreams. Did you know that Frank Butler died only 19 days after she did? That's super romantic. Plus she has a musical written about her, and she's from Ohio. Annie Oakley is the shit.

And sorry that last comment went off on a bit of a tangent. I agree with you though. We need some buff viking women or something. Not cheerleaders in sheepskin.

I liked the female character in "Firefly" (forget her name... again that darn adult onset) but she was second in command. She was awesome. Warrior in the true sense. Not wearing a bikini in battle, but knowing how to use body armor and a gun as well as set ambushes. She was great looking as well. She also looked like she had the phsysical strength to kick someone's ass.

I especially loved the episode when she told her husband that they were going to have kids and wouldn't let him freak about it. That was one no-nonsense scene.

I agree about the itty bitty amazon. It irritates me as well. I'm not so picky about tan lines, but at least have some muscle tone! This was one of my pet peeves about Buffy. Loved the show, but hated that her arms had next to no muscle tone.

Train Wreck? I think not.

...oh Elie, you have me ROFL! Oh boy...ur on a roll!

Baker, yeah, you see who is doing the drawings right? Men! LOL! No woman in her right mind would draw a warrior princess like that. And with the top off! Ugh! Good coment though!

Oh Elie, I agree, that darn show started out well then took a nose dive! What's wrong with these writers? They have no balls are what?! How could they swing the story that way and end it so depressingly?! That really sucks!

Well, how about Red Sonja from Conan the Barbarian? Now there's a warrior princess who has some meat on her!

don't worry about it, I am not like some that get all bent out of shape if the subject wanders.

Yes annie was awsome, but notice she did not have a bikini wax, perfect skin and was NOT swinging a broadsword like it is a small twig.
