Who's your very fast daddy?

1:42!!!!!

Finally got my race in this Sunday at the Killians Shamrock Marathon (I just did the half. (If you're one of those going ummm, it's 13.1 miles) . MMMmmmm victory beer and Irish stew. God bless America and the sponsors from Killian beer. Damn you School of Music stairwells.........

After not racing for a year, I got a completely awesome time of 1:42 (chip time, 1:43 gun time), placing me at a grand 444th. That's right. 444. WOOT!!!!!!!!!! I almost feel, I dunno, Kenyan or something..........

The P.T. test at four the following morning was however somewhat more painful than usual. It's the first time I ever hit muscle failure in the legs on the pushup portion...........Meh. I passed.

I've got a 10k coming up next weekend. Muhahahahaha, look out, fat man running!

If you want to be amused, take a look here for some race photos, Link

but this is my favorite. Link (They're not directly posted, 'cause it's blocked from sharing, hmmmm.) Go JU run team!

Lookin' good, soldier. Nice work, and way to get back into shape after your post-Army meltdown.
Noticed the left leg a-flexin' pretty good there. Looks like you owe the school of music stairs a beer of their own! GRRR!

Thanks for the Longhorns representin'. Too bad they lost tonight. I had them going to the finals against UConn.

About five minutes before heading over to the big sandbox. Say, August or Septemberish. I don't know when they're deploying yet, 'cause they don't have the orders yet.

Thanks for the Longhorns representin'.

Hey, that's neat how they posted the pictures online. My running days were pre-internet I think, so if we wanted the pictures, we had to order them at the finish line, or via snail mail or something. You took a great picture! I sure miss that runner's high. It's a euphoric feeling, like flying or being on some sort of wonder-drug.
