WindowBlinds 5.01 released

Tweaks, faster, new features, bug fixes, and more

Stardock has released WindowBlinds 5.01.  WindowBlinds is a program that enables users to completely change the look and feel of Microsoft Windows.  With it, users can apply "skins" that change the existing Windows graphical user interface (GUI) across the entire system.  Title bars, push buttons, radio buttons, the Start bar, and nearly every other part of the Windows interface is changed.

WindowBlinds is one of the most popular desktop customization utilities of all time, used by millions of people.  It's also used by companies such as Microsoft, nVidia, ATI, Nintendo, Blizzard, and many others to create their own custom desktops. The recent Xbox 360 Desktop uses WindowBlinds for instance. Companies also license WindowBlinds based technology in the form of DirectSkin to make their own applications skinnable.  For example, the ATI Catalyst Control Center uses WindowBlinds for its skinning.

WindowBlinds has skinning features not thought possible on Windows XP or before.  For instance, WindowBlinds can support alpha blending in skins (glass effects and other visual enhancements in title bars and controls) as well as animation, shadows, sound effects, and more.

WindowBlinds 5.01 improves performance on X64 based systems, adds support for wallpaper management, taskbar blurring, IE 7 support, and various tweaks, bug fixes, and performance enhancements.

It can be downloaded at www.windowblinds.net.  WindowBlinds can be registered on its own for $19.95 or as part of Stardock's award-winning suite of desktop utilities Object Desktop (www.objectdesktop.com).

I am running it windowed and yes I have the antialiasing turned on, and No this is not an issue on WB 5.0 and yes I am running ATI. so if its not effecting my WB 5.0 and it is my WB 5.01 then the issue does lie with Windowblinds as stated in my last post.

Mr Cabelguy: It sounds like you were just not using a per pixel skin with WB5.0 and are with 5.01.

Disabling antialiasing will resolve the problem.

I thought it was a nice update ... unless some apps brings in trouble such as my printer control panel (: crashing with an error linked to comcat32.dll (i think)
Back to version 5.00[b].011 with which i don't get any trouble ...

Too bad the Wallpaper feature doesn't know enough to search subfolders.

I have a directory "Wallpapers" with many subfolders for different categories "Renders" "Landscapes" "Winter" "Summer" "Places"

Can someone that has used the taskbar blur option please tell me how to enable it? I am using the latest build of stardock skinstudio and Windowblinds 5.01, but it has no option for it!

Same for me, unless this feature is not included, the option "wallpaper" is useless i think

BTW, the best "Wallpaper Manager soft i know is Link which allow to have folders / subfolders and much better lists of wallpaper. Ex: i use a specific theme but i want the oportunity to change wallpaper; in a few clicks "WallPaper Changer" let you build a list of different walls (wherever they are on your disk), just save the list with a "talking" name and there you are ...
