Updating Laptop NVidia drivers

Had a problem getting the game going and everything was up to date including the latest video driver?
Well if your running an NVidia card especially the ones at least a year or two old you are probably getting the "latest" drivers from the notebook manufacturer which means you don't quite have the latest drivers.

As an example Toshiba has the latest update for my GeForce4 440 go card at 28.42. or around 2002 when it was last updated. So I'm screwed right. Thats what I thought to. The solution to this problem is to go to this website www.laptopvideo2go.com. They modify the inf files so that all of the older cards can be updated to the latest drivers. Go the drivers page and download the latest driver, install it into a directory then go back to the page and download the associated inf file right next to the latest driver. Take this file and install it to the same directory overwriting the file of the same name. Now I used the method supplied with the F.A.Q. supplied on the drivers page i.e. the have disk method from the driver hardware under the control panel. It's pretty straightforward and should work for every mobile NVidia driver maybe even some desktop drivers (don't know don't have a desktop)

Anywho got my Geforce4 440 Go drivers updated beautifully all the way from 28.42 to the 81.xx series. A note these aren't official drivers so of course your using these at your own risk but these guys have done a beautiful job on giving me a chance on drivers that haven't been updated by Toshiba since 2002 (as well as playing some games I love) Anyways drop them a few bucks as thanks, as soon as I get my next paycheck I'm doing the same. Hope this helps out a lot of people.
