desktopx or windows blinds?

I want to get the cool startmeny look that you get from the aero xp theme. So I installed the desktopx software, the thing is, I get all the gadgets or what you might call them to work, but idont get the theme, it self to work.
I want that half transparent look on all my windows and folders, and maybe some new cool icons, how do I make that work? What do I need to download? Windows blinds?
Plz help a lil beginner...

Madorski - You will need WindowBlinds to be able to change your start menu, window borders scroll bars, etc. You can get that here: www.windowblinds.net. There is even a trial version so you can see if you like it.

If you want to change your icons you will need IconPackager. You can get that here: www.stardock.com/products/iconpackager/. It also has a trial version.

If you think you want to purchase all of these programs I recommend getting the Object Desktop suite of software which comes with both of those programs and much more, plus all of the updates to those programs for one year. You can get that here: www.objectdesktop.net. You can't get a trial version of Object Desktop but you can get trial versions of most of the individual programs. Good luck!

Does that also include the purchase of WindowBlinds? In other words, I downloaded "ChaNinja" skins for WindowBlinds and it works fine except the icons on the start menu don't come up (I just get the default windows icons). However the icons work fine under things like Internet Explorer. Or am I just doing something wrong?

WB doesn't change the icons in the start menu - that would be iconpackager - the toolbar icons in IE are changed by WB (if included by the skinner)

The object desktop suite (ODNT) includes WB - here's a list: Link. If you've already purchase WB or other component, I believe you can upgrade to ODNT for a discount.
