Dual Core Processor Problems

Some games suffer from spastic, jerky animation when running on dual core systems. It appears that GalCiv2 is one of these games, at least on my system.

I have a workaround for this--I can go to the task manager (every time I start the game) and change the processor affinity on the game to only CPU 0. But this is annoying to have to do every time.

* Is this a known issue? I did a forum search but didn't turn anything up.
* Is there a fix in the works for this problem?

Bleh. Just now noticed the sticky addressing this. My apologies, I'm off to try the new CPU drivers. I'll report back with results.

I'm happy to report that installing these drivers did resolve the issues I was having.

My apologies again for jumping the gun.

For reference, my CPU is an AMD Althon 64 X2 Dual 3800+.
