Need help on possibly fixing problem in game.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or what, but I went into my game and all the sudden, my ships only show as green icons, the planets dont show at all for ones I own and others are just white rings on the map. Other then that everything looks pretty normal. It doesn't look like a bug though, just some.. lower graphic option maybe? Also it shows trade routes I think on the map. I have gone through all my options and got frusrated hitting every key on my keyboard to see if somehow that changed it.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is reinstalling, but was wondering if someone knew what was going on here. Thanks in advance.

it sounds like you're zoomed out... when you zoom out to a certain distance, the map changes to icon representation, allowing you to play it like a boardgame, or to just get an overall strategic view of the galaxy.
Try zooming the map in further.

Ah, then that definitely sounds like a problem. I haven't noticed anyone else experiencing this.
You should probably post the problem in one of the stickied threads about "in-game problems," so someone from Stardock can take a look at it.

Looks like a graphic card problem, I had a NVIDIA card that I bought recently to replace my old ATI and I had to uninstall it and put my old back, because the graphic quality was bad, so it could be a graphic card problem, have you downloaded the latest driver for your card? Also the game has some settings that can help your card to perform better.

I've checked other games on my comp and settings for possible video card problems and there is none. I've played Gal Civ 2 just fine for a bit, just happened to be like this now as I started it up.
The performance had also always been fine... Still is with everything missing and down graded.
