So all Christians that worship Jesus, pray to Jesus or Mary or whatever have already broke the First of Gods commandments.

This kind of thing is exactly why I can't be religious. Everyone is so sensitive about their religious beliefs...we will fight over shit like this, but we can't use that energy for something constructive.

Wasn't it "I AM" that appeared to Moses and gave him the Commandments? Didn't Jesus say that he is that same "I AM"?

Well, then it isn't so hard to imagine that Jewish and Christianity aren't that far removed, in fact, they aren't removed at all. Adam was taught by God... So was Abraham, Isaac and Jacob... Jesus didn't come down to destroy the law, but fulfill it.

Keep looking for the Messiah, we'll both be ready to greet him together, you for the first time, and me for the second. ;~)

I hate the song because it's a hymn to soviet communism and perpetuates the lie that killed millions... sung by a guy who lied about "giving peace a chance"... but that is a whole other issue.

tex hon I am one of the least closed minded thinkers here when it comes to religion and the path to God, I have always said their are many paths and they are all right, as long as you honor GOD, are a good person, cleansed of hatred AND believe in HIM>

I think what Bluedev was trying to say on the other thread is..

If there are many paths to God, and you accept this as fact.  Then you must also accept that one of those paths believes it is the only way.

In my mind you were arguing theology (ie you are not going to hell because your Jewish), he was arguing the right to believe that theology (saying if you believe there are many paths than one of those paths believes its the ONLY way).

Meh.  I could be wrong.

Jesus is Jehovah God of the OT. Yes!

While I'm one of those "close minded Christ only believers," I also believe that God has a great plan still for the Jews.

It says in Genesis 9:27 in the prohecy of Noah's sons that, "God will enlarge Japheth (Gentiles) and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem (Jews); and Canaan shall be his servant."

Goes well with Paul saying 1500 hundred years later that the Gentiles will be grafted into the Jewish tree that was rooted in the Abrahamic Covenant. That was the mystery. Both Jew and Gentile alike are going to share in the promises made to the Jews in the OT.
