Registration Problem

I cannot register the game on Stardock Central

I have been trying to register my copy of GalCiv II ever since I bought it. I have not been able to register the game on Stardock Central because it says that the email address I am providing is different from the one on record. But I didn't download the game and I haven't registred it so how can it the emial address not match the one on record? I have download the bonus pack from galciv2.com by providing my serial number. I have tried using the email address I provided for GalCiv I and I have tried the other email address I have. I get the same message either way. Has anyone experienced a similar problem and can help me out?

I have the same problem.
I obtained the update using my serial number.
I keep getting an error when i try to play the game, something about my serial not matching my email address. Considering i just bought the game today and haven't played it yet, i can't understand what's going on.
'Stardock' is also refusing my email address.

I have sent an email (with the meat of the error message) to the support address.

Have to say i'm a little disappointed. I was really looking forward to playing.

It's possible the store stuck you with a returned copy, in which case you'll need to return it for one in which the serial hasn't been already used. If the problem is anything else besides that, support will fix you up. Since you've already contacted them, all you need to do is wait patiently for their reply (SD is closed on weekends, so you won't get one until Monday morning US Eastern Time at best).

On the other hand, you can reinstall from the retail discs and play 1.0 while you wait. The version right off the disc doesn't need a serial.

Thanks Kyro.
I just rang the store, and they give assurance that the game is not second hand.
I will reinstall and play v1.0 while i await.

Cheers.

I also have the exact same problem. Tech support finally contacted me today and suggested I should buy a new copy... (Way not get return customers guys)

My copy was shrinkwrapped when I bought it so there is no way it was used.

Either somone have compromised the serial number list itself or have found a way to generate serials (that can match valid ones), or stardock have a serious issue in their systems. Either way we as customers should not be made to suffer because of this.

I have replied to tech suport including a picture of the discs and the receipt. Hopefully it will not take them several days to respond again.
