After my first game: Bug, Requests

Hi,

I've finished my first 5 hours game yesterday. Within I experienced the following:

BUG:
In midgame after pressing the TURN button it disappeared and didn't come back. It was gone! No pressing SPACE or ENTER helped out, I was not able to end my turn. After saving, quitting, restarting and reloading three times the TURN button was there again and I was able to continue playing.

TWEAKS:
1.
When setting projects for a planet to build I add them to the slots by doubleclicking the desired project. If I had to scroll the projects list down to reach my project and doubleclick it the list is scrolled to the top again. So when I want to add several projects of the same type from the lower part of the list I have to scroll it down every time.
It would be nice if the list remains on the position it was when I doubleclick.

2.
When I have build a colonizer an want to send it to an optimal planet I pop up the planets/ships screen and look at all discovered but unowned planets. When I find one and doubleklick on it it gets selected in 3D-map. But my previously selected colonizer is deselected. So I have to move map to select my colonizer again to bring him to that planet. But sometimes I don't remember where that planet from the unowned-list was. (hope you understand the problem due to my bad english...)
It would be nice to have a button in the planets list so send a previously selected ship right there.

PROBLEMS WITH UNDERSTANDING:
How do upgrade ships really work? I must admit I don't understand it completely.
Can I select one of the standard types, i.e. DEFENDER , copy it's blueprint and change or add something and saving the new design as an upgrade to the DEFENDER?
When I research i.e. a new engine, how can I upgrade my existing blueprints with this new engine and get my existing ships upgraded?
When I have a custom design and I have researched much miniturization, is it possible to grab my old design and fill the newly available spave with new components?

Many questions... thanx in advance.

Turn Button: If you have a saved game where that turn-button bug is reproducable, can you send it to [email protected]?

1. I agree.

2. Hmm...we'll look into that. Shouldn't be that hard to implement (once the other bugs get stomped).

Upgrading: When you upgrade a ship design, you're not technicially upgrading any ship in your fleet....jsut the design. To upgrade ships to use a new engine, you need to upgrade the design (remove all old engines, install the new ones) then Refit all ships of that type once your done (though this can get costly).

Personally, I jsut find it easier to upgrade the designs and switch planetary ship production with the governors screen.

Miniturization: Yes, once youve researched enough minturization, you should be able to jump into the designs and add any components that now fit.

Hope I was able to answer your questions!

Thanx, I'll try the refit thing in my next game.
The "send-ship-to" function in the planets list would be great. Looking forward to it.
In addition to the existing orders for ships (i.e. sentry) a new one "patrol" would be nice to order a ship (or fleet) to move continuously between previously set rally points and engage all enemy vessels it encounters. Codename Watchdog
