Wow.. thats all i can say

GalCiv2 Forums
Well ive had the game for about 2 days now, and I have played it an obscene amount of hours in that time.
What is scary is that.. if I had spent this much time with any of my other games ive played, id have already mastered it, beaten it, and be digging for more ways to play it.
I have barely.. BARELY..scratched the surface with GalCiv2. Most of my time up to this point has been spent cheating against the computer to try different strategies and see how everything works.
Last night...just for the heck of it..I created a great ship called "The Striking Hawk" which looked just like a bird..wings, beak, eyes, even little legs with claws.. its amazing
. Course I only made it for fun but im still impressed that I was able to do so.
I am still figuring out how to make a good economy without cheating to keep up.. I still havent played around much with governments, diplomacy, starbases, defense, alliances, cultural victories, the Campaign, etc..etc.... basicly 3/4 of the game.
I am completely addicted in a bad way that is going to effect my grades if im not careful
.
Congrats devs.. you have made a classic. I really look forward to the new content and future expansion. as of now, I am a lifelong fan. This is the first TBS to capture my attention the way that Civilization 1 did.
BTW. I wanted to throw this in, but didnt want to start another "BUG" thread.. since that gives the wrong impression that this game is buggy. (Ive experienced only a couple of very minor bugs..nothing gamebreaking at all). But, after ive been playing for a while (like 8 hours..im so hooked).. that is when the bugs come out. I will sometimes have my mouse disappear.. ill get choppy gameplay.. sometimes ill buy a building to quickly complete it, and it will build something else instead (weird bug.. sucks too..i had a planet getting pretty angry with me so i was trying to build a media center.. twice I tried and both times it built a galactic wonder that I didnt want. Sucks cause I lost two tiles and had to get rid of some other more important stuff to get the dang media center built)
Anyway..considering that I usually only experience these problems after long hours of gameplay..it makes me wonder if we dont have a slight memory leak in the game.
