Alliances?

Hi i have a small problem with alliances as in I can't seem to get any. I am playing as the Korx and am the most powerful nation by far, the game is on an average difficulty and I have alliance victory turned on.

I have a massive diplomacy skill, the highest of the races and i have been friendly with the Yor for years. I have given them many techs for free and most of their trade comes from me. I have helped them in wars, given them money...I even taught them how to build bigger ships! All of their relationship factors with me are rated as + (positive).

So why oh why can't I get the option to ally with them!?!? And before anyone asks I am very far on the tech tree....alliances should defiantly be available.

I have already destroyed five of the other races through military (the drengin killed another two)...theres only the drengin us and the yor left....I really don't want to have to kill off both the drengins AND the yor for no reason!

If you're friendly with them and you have the following techs :

Xeno Communications > Universal Translator > Interstellar Governments > Alliances (according to tech tree)

there's no reason you shouldn't be able to make an alliance I'd say.

first make sure they have alliances...and second the alliance option doesnt pop up unless your relations are close or better from what i've seen.

Yes. Friendly is not enough. Bribe them.
