Created a ship inadvertently with no engine.

Saved the ship and crashed to desktop.Then all future loads are unstable.Thanks.Shouldn't there be a screen telling me I need another component?

No, ship designs without engines are quite common, so that isn't the reason for the CDT. Have you installed today's update? I can't remember if they mentioned fixing that bug, but I seem to recall they fixed a CTD bug related to ship design.

The update hasn't been posted yet, but yes, the bug you list has most likely been fixed. All ships can move 1 tile per turn by default, so no engines are needed.
