What's wrong with 1280X1024?

I'm curious to know why 1280X1024 was left out of the video resolutions. Dual monitor spanning is there at that resolution, of 2560X1024, but every window and the map centers on the center of that span, so it's really hard to look at. It seems a shame to have to use 1024X768...

... maybe that can be fixed next update?

1280 x 1024 was not left out, It might just not be being detected buy the game for some crazy reason. If you want to force it you can go to the prefs.ini file in the My Games\GalCiv2 folder. and Change it manualy.

PS. You can run at just about any resolution your card will push. If you run in a window you can even do crzay sizes. I have a rotateing moniture and I just for fun I pivited it and Ran the game in a window at 1200 wide buy 1900 high. The only real restiction is that you cant run below 1024x768 withough getting UI glitches.

It definitely showed up just fine for me. 1280x1024 is my LCD's native resolution, and the game picked it up just fine. IIRC, it was the 3rd or 4th resolution option the game presented me with.

I'm running at 1280x1024 without any problems, but I did notice it's farther down the list of resolutions you'd expect. I think the list switches to like 1350xsomething first before later going back to the 1280x1024 one.

I'm running at 1280x1024 at home with no problems and 1400x1050 with my laptop again with no problems. I can't praise you enough for making the resolution true dynamic!

BugSiez, I think that the game not listing 1280x1024 might be becuse you have spanning enabled. Its kind of a pain but you might want to switch your monirers to just be Side by Side. With one as the primary. And see if that solves the problem.
