Abnormal Sound from Tower during game play

The title says it all. When I play GC2 after awhile the tower (NOT THE SPEAKERS) begins making an abnormal beeping sound. It doesn't interfere with the game its just annoying as all get out and I have no idea how to make it stop. It might not even be GC2, probably some corrupted file or other thing. The only reason I'm posting it here is because it only happens when I play GC2.

sounds like you are overheating to me. If you here a "siren" type of beep...or really..any kind of repeated beeping..usually that is an overheating alarm sayings "SHUT ME DOWN BEFORE I BURN UP!!"

in other words.. I would recommend you taking measures to keep your comp cooled. You may want to post your specs here so people can give you some advice. I know certain people with high end computers have been having issues with overheating due to some kind of weird "thing" with the game that is going to be fixed soon.

Sometimes blowing the dust off of the heatsinks and fan blades is all you need to get your temp back down to a reasonable level.

I take it those are in the back of the tower... sorry but I'm computer illiterate... Also my specs are a 3.2 Intel Pentium processor (2 CPUs), DirectX 9.0C, 512 MB RAM, and a ATI X300 128 MB. Also will this "thing" be fixed in a patch or what... thanks in advance.
