Sound isn't working.

I'm at a loss here. I've been playing the game, and it's working okay except that I can't get any sound at all. My speakers are working (other games play sound) and I've been to the audio section, messing with the sliders and unclicking and reclicking on the music buttons at the bottom. Is there a universal mute button I'm not aware of?

Yes there is. That may or may not be the culprit. You can check by either right clicking on your sound icon in the system tray and opening "Adjust Audio Properties', or go into the sound properties through your control panel. On the Volume Tab, click on Advanced and the next window will show you all your settings...wave,line in, etc. There is a mute button for each AND on the Master Volume for all.

Hopefully this helps. I have had this happen and usually found it was the 'Wave' setting that had somehow been muted. You may want to check the mute button on your vilume control in the system tray as well.

I appreciate the help, but no go- everything's on. It's only Galactic Civ 2 that has no sound, everything else is working fine.

Make sure you downloaded the Multimedia. It is a seperate download.

Click on the plus sign next to the GalCiv2 icon in SDC.
