Any Amazon orders shipped or processed yet?

I placed my order on the 7th of this month. My order says it won't ship until the 27th. I'm curious if everyone from Amazon is in the same boat, or if any are shipped/about to ship?

Plus, I want to make sure they haven't run out of the special edition boxes.

Shipping estimate: February 17, 2006 - February 27, 2006
Delivery estimate: February 22, 2006 - March 7, 2006
I changed the shipping to 2 day. Amazon uses usps and airborne home (lame) with standard for me. This is weak. I should have just bought it in a store. Oh well.

Amazon.com (in fact all retailers except Stardock and WalMart) is only carrying the standard edition of the game.

We and WalMart have plenty of Collector's Editions. It's just that the other retailers opted not to carry that version of the game.  Some retailers will be providing the tech tree posters and goody download cards separately, but that's something they decide. We will do our best to hook people up with the downloadable goodies regardless.

According to Paradox, Amazon.co.uk (and the other European versions) should get the limited/collectors edition.

Well, I bit the bullet and cancelled my Amazon order to buy/download from stardock. I'm sure this won't please the retailers.

Well if the retailers don't please the customers (providing the full edition), they can hardly expect the customers to please them in return by buying the game.

Mine changed to "shipped" on Friday, but now I see someone say here that its not a collector's edition, when I went with amazon in the first place because of a posting on this board saying they would have collector's edition. I may be royally pissed on Tuesday when its supposed to get here. Waiting an extra week for nothing just doesn't sit well.

There's a lengthy news post about this on the GalCiv II homepage:

"Then there's the whole Collector's Edition fun. We were told that all pre-orders, regardless of source, in North America, would have their orders fulfilled with the Collector's Edition box. We passed this on. Naturally, only some stores are doing that. Oh, it gets better, some stores are doing it part-way. That is, they provide the technology tree poster but not the box. Oye.  So here's the thing -- anyone who pre-ordered from a retailer in North America and ended up with the regular package who wants the Tech tree poster, email us ([email protected]) and we'll mail you a tech tree poster (as we get them in) for free.  It doesn't really matter whose fault it is, at the end of the day, you bought our game and it's up to us to make sure you're happy."

I pre-ordered my copy from EB (the store) and am still waiting for it. They told me that the release date was pushed back, so I told them it wasn't, they argued and I left; so now I wait till the 28th. As long as I can get the extra ship "jewelery" when it eventually arrives I won't be upset.
