Can I upload my own pics to use as a picture for my custom race?

I wander if you can load images to use in your custom race for the leader picture when you choose a face for your empire at the beginning of the game. I want to load a really cool jpg image of a vampire to use a picture for my race. If I can, how do I go about doing that. If not could that be in a future patch or expansion pack?

Well it is certainly possible. Just find the gfx folder, and then look for races. There you will see some files, that are in .png form. As long as you conform the image to 256x256 and save it as a .png, and try to follow the naming conventions it should appear.

I found a pic of Admiral Adama from BS:G, and am using that as my custom leaders image. Though I've only seen that image when I select the custom race. LOL.

How would I go about doing that in Microsoft paint? I need a step by step proceedure. I don't have any other paint/graphic programs. and I want to size down the vampire picture from a 500x350 down to the size shown. I also need to know how to save it as a .png from a .fpg image. As well as getting into the right folder in the gfx folder. I know I may sound redundant, but I want to make sure I don't screw up somewhere. All help is appreciated.

I'm currently using the American banner from the bonus pack with Ronald Reagan as my avatar. I've called him Fearless Leader.
