Define Pre-order

Can we get a definition of pre-order here? I joined up to totalgaming and stardock for the purpose of Gal Civ I and Gal Civ II. That was just about a year ago, back when I first learned of Gal Civ II. Does that equal pre-order or should I just go on Amazon?

Did you place a order with a retailer or Stardock before the game was released? That is pre-ordering.

That said, it sounds like all copies you will find in the next couple of weeks will be the Collector's Edition, as I don't think there has been a second manufacturing run yet.

I "bought" mine eons ago with totalgaming.net... gal civ and now gal civ 2 are two of the games I got with that.... Looks like I'm out of luck and have to shell out more cash? Ah-well

While I have only played the game for a few hours.. I have to warn you all that this game is a time waster... I snuck an archived copy into work.. activated it this afternoon and then a funny thing happened.. I loaded up Galciv 2 and somehow time fast forwarded and the next thing I remembered saying was wow.. its dark and realising I somehow had played all afternoon and into the evening... thankfully I noticed the darkness or I would have one angry woman drawing and quatering me right now instead of watching american idol....

My favorite part of the game is definately the AI and the ship designing.. In my first game I really found myself constantly building new ship designs and trying to counter the AI which always managed to keep pace with me.. The war would go well suddenly a new fighter comes on the scene and your scrambling to build a counter... VERY engaging.. Kudos to Stardock you all deserve to make $$$$$$$$$$ off this game!

Great game.. there are some things that could have been done better but short of making it a real life experience I can't imagine how... graphics Id say are on par with the average RTS the battle viewer was neat
