Error starting game

Whenever I try to run, I get this error:

Unable to load scripting libraries. Please install using setup.exe and play the game from the Start menu. (probable reason: Windows Script 5.6 is improperly installed. Search for "windows script" for a reinstaller.)

I downloaded Windoes Script 5.6 and nothing changed. I also have the DL version, which means no setup.exe on a CD. Help please!

Try opening up the directory where GalCiv2 is installed and double click on GalCiv2.exe and see if you can run it that way. If so, it's just the launcher you're having problems with, and you can make a shortcut to GalCiv2.exe for your desktop.

It actually is just the launcher, and I am able to run the game the way you described.
