Game wont start

I downloaded the entire game and when I try to start it all it does stay in this black screen. If anyone has any help it would be appreciated.

I had troubles starting it at first as well but then I switched my desktop to the game's default 1024x768 32-bit resolution, started it successfully, and then changed the resolution from inside the game to my prefered resolution (1280x1024) and now it works fine.

did is start up fine the second time w/o having to change your resolution? i wonder how this might affect starting the game given the resolution on my widescreen...

Once you set it in the prefs.ini file, it will always start at that resolution.
