IP Question: to zip or not to zip?

I'm finally ready to upload my IP and it says to upload the .ip file. However, it is a 10mb file and I see that most IP files are uploaded with the zip extention. It says an .ip file is required. Will my IP be accepted if I submit a zip file?

Uploading the regular .ip file took so long that my internet timed out.

HELP!!!

Isn't an .IP file a .zip?

All of the extentions are all just zip files renamed.
.bootskin
.logonxp
.wba
.CurXPTheme
--all can be opened with a zip manager program.

Most ip's I get are not inside a zip-- they have the ip extension.

An .ip file is a zip file...... renamed. Zipping it probably won't make it noticeably smaller.

Hey 47 songs, I just to test used IP to zip a 26 meg icon package then went to themes folder and used Object zip to zip folder, they where the same size, about 8.6 megs. If you can make the zip smaller than the IP file upload the zip and just note in description that it is a zip so we know.

Thanks, Koasati, Cavan. I uploaded the file as an .ip. All seemed to be fine until I tried to download it. Unfortunately I get this error message:

404: File Not Found

The page or file that you are looking for cannot be found.

Is this because the file hasn't been accepted by moderation yet, or is there something I've done wrong?
