Need Creative people

Alright, I know there are people trying to override the "Do not open until the 21st" code ANyone have any ideas on how to do it? Some sort of brainstorming session here would be nice.

6 more days, be patient my young apprentice, the path to rule the universe is one build upon patience and time. The day of your ascendence into a Dreadlord disciple is coming. So wait and be ready.

your brainstorming how to circumvent the fact you are missing key files. On a site run by the people who make the game who set up the block. You know they have Darwin awards for people like you.

He is just a young impatient apprentice of the dark side!!!

There is another person you can contact about getting the two files that you need to complete your transcendance to the dark side... I am just not going to tell you because my wife rubbed my fur the wrong way today.

Considering that all you got was a dummy EXE, you won't be making any progress any way you slice it. Just gotta be patient

Luckily for you Kenes, Frogboy has required for the Sons of the Dreadlords to handle your case personally and has not sentenced you to the Drengin furnaces!!!!

Dude, there's no code "blocking" you from accessing anything. You don't have the game's code. They haven't let any of us download it yet. There's no hack to let you run the exe because it's still on Stardock's server in Michigan.

As the above posters have mentioned... The only "code" that there is to crack is if you can reprogram the entirety of the changes to the GalCiv2 engine and some key libraries before the 21st, using the last beta binaries for reference. There is NO way to get the release binaries short of finding someone who already has them.

And that would be the Stardock employees.

I can already tell you their answer... Wait until release

Why would it matter where I post it...Usually developers just leave something very easy to unlock there programs. Either it be turning a zero to a one, or simply deleting a character in the line programming. I was being bored, and stupid...sheesh...

What on Earth possesed you to post this here of all places?

That's kind of what I was wondering. I'm starting to think that perhaps he started this thread as a prank on the rest of us.

OK, take a seat and write 200 times

"Yo no soy un descifrador de codigos"
"Yo no soy un descifrador de codigos"
"Yo no soy un descifrador de codigos"
"Yo no soy un descifrador de codigos"

I said 100 times, is that clear???

Ps: It means I am not a codebreaker.

I believe it is payed for

I may be wrong, but I didn't think we got the primary executable yet. Tough to play without that.

The 21st shall go down in history as the most important date ever.

More important than december 7th 1944, 9/11, and the birth of christ, combined!

Is there something more happening than GalCiv2's release I'm not aware of? Like I don't know, an asteroid hitting the Earth and wiping out humanity? Alien contact? Discovery of an infinite supply of energy? End of world hunger?

kenes... the reason this wasn't the best place to post this is because it's generally considered "bad form" to look for help on cracking a game on the developer's forums. Even if you've legally purchased it... it's still cracking to try to alter the game code to unlock it before it's time.

Also, what you have isn't even a "locked" exe... I believe it's a dummy exe that's just a placeholer and can't be cracked or altered to unlock the game... the game code just isn't fully there. So no amount of cracking or hacking on the exe will give you the game early.

heh, they should just take it as a complement. He obviously paid for the game, and is so excited about it that he can't even wait 6 days! Hell, most indie game makers would die for this kind of press. Anyways, you can't crack what you don't have, so they got nothing to worry (or be mad) about!

Unless you've got a cryogenic unit at home to set for 6 days, or some other time-skipping device, then all you can do is wait like the rest of us eager folks
It'd probably go all wrong anyways, and you'd end up 10000 years in the future alone without a pc or a Stardock helpdesk

Yes, and you'll wake up and find somebody saying "Welcome to the world of tomorrow!". Time for the suicide booth then...

May I make a more realistic suggestion...

Instead of name calling I will tell you what I have begun to do so that I can enjoy my time with GC2 this weekend.

I have been moving over select files from the d/l to the old beta that I believe will not totally dork it up. Stuff like movies, music, etc. Not whole folders at a time mind you but stuff that may cross over w/o making the last beta copy I have unplayable. Thereby providing me with nothing but my better halfs shrill katlike voice to listen to this weekend.

Good Hunting,

PS: If you do not have the beta, just pretend you did not read this at all.
