Size means everything sometimes

800x600/ 1024x768/or what?

Hello, I was wondering if it would be hard to get everybody to put the screen size resolutions on the previews of the programs that it realy does matter on? I get sooo frustrated when I spend time downloading a file only to have to delete it after I find out it is not in my screen res. Just a thought. Maybe a software change could solve this, I don't know. Make every suit file, for instance, work on all resolutions, not just certain ones. If not just type it in the description of the preview. Some do, but most don't... Like I said, Just a thought...

I'm not trying to piss anyone off!!! I know I could go through changing my screen resolution But why should I have to do that everytime I want to try different one's untill I find what I like? Technology is much better now isn't it? Besides it would still be simple to just put it in the preview description.

I can't change my resolution.
It is really appreciated when resolutions are in the description.

Yes, I agree -- while I can change my resolution, it appears fuzzy at anything below 1280x800. In addition, it's widescreen so it's hard to find logons and desktopx themes that work.

It would be excellent to have the screen resolution included!

But..but...but...the Authors would lose out on all the downloads from people finding out the skin doesn't work for them.

Was a bit hesitant to open this thread to begin with, given what the title could suggest, but yeah, having the resolution descriptions included with the artists comments would be highy useful and appreciated.
I'm most comfortable running at 1024 x 768 (for my eyesight), and whilst I can resize walls to suit my screen, the same cannot be said of some skins...or if it can, I don't know how to do it.

Before upgrading my monitor to a 19" LCD, the best resolution for me on my old 17" CRT was 800 x 600, and apart from a very few resolution independant themes, it was near impossible to find a DX theme to suit, thus I missed out on some pretty spectacular themes. Even now, however, at 1024 x 768, I still find some great DX themes are unusable because they're created only for resolutions higher than the one best suited to my personal requirements.
I do note, however, some artists do include more than one resolution to accomodate the various screen sizes, so if resolution independent skins are an issue in some instances, perhaps this could be a solution, depending on how much extra work is involved, etc.
My tuppence worth....though I'm not complaining. I can use many, many more DX themes than before at 800 x 600 on my old monitor. Reason I can use 1024 x 768 now and not then? Well for some reason my technical noodle can't explain, 1024 x 768 on my 19" monitor looks the same as 800 x 600 did on my old 17".

So glad this turned out not to be a 'competitive' thread.....

My laptop is at 1900x1200 and only works well on this res. I would certainly appreciate knowing ahead of time the resolutions.
