WindowBlinds Conflicts With Motorola Phone Tools

What a pain

For those of you that are using MPT (Motorola Phone Tools), there seems to be a conflict between it and WindowBlinds. MPT will seem to "hang" while trying to synchronize with your Outlook contacts and calendar. After hrs of trying to figure out the problem it comes down to this: Under "Per Application" in Settings, add the exe's that are located in the MPT folder. These are Moffice.exe, MphoneTools.exe, MMCenter.exe and LiveUpdate.exe. After I added these, MPT seems to work ok now.

After hrs of trying to figure out the problem it comes down to this...when using MPT, do not run WindowBlinds. Unload it first and then things should be ok.

Did you try excluding MPT via the WB config? Still not working?

Works fine here too.

After many hours of investigation, and a heap of help from the Phonetools forum, one member on the forum mentioned that Windowblinds "might" be the cause of the problem. They were right. I had exactly the same issues as you and unloading blinds instantly solved the problem. I've done the same thing as you and added Phonetools to the per application settings and everything is fine now. Wish I'd seen this earlier but Windowblinds was the last thing I was thinking of. The member at the Phonetools forum seemed to think that it is to do with the way Phonetools uses the GUI to function.....not my area of expertise so I'm only passing on the comment. Running WB5.

Any application that paints its own UI will potentially have a problem with WB. There's really nothing SD can do about it, users just have to be able to find the problematic apps and exclude them.
