Quickmatch not actually starting

I was trying to play a quickmatch.  I didn't get a match right away, so went into a skirmish.  The game announced that it had found a match and pulled me out the skirmish as usual.  The game is STILL sitting at the 1v1 Match Found screen over 10 minutes later.  I believe I'm going to have to kill the game to get out of the screen.  ESC does nothing, and no buttons work.

No error messages or anything, just sitting there with the spinning circle.

Same issue I had twice last night. I had to go into task manager and kill the game entirely to escape. It started into the quickmatch after pairing me up and got to the rendering message and never progressed.

EDIT- Might have to look into this one a little more. Roughly 40% of my 1v1 matches result in failure to launch into the game and freezing up where i have to quit out of the game.

Hi, could you post your output.txt file next time that happens (in your Documents folder)? Also, you are not playing on the next_version branch, are you?

What I've noticed is that it typically happens if it says you've found a match. It will start to get everything ready to go into the match and gray out the "cancel, play skirmish, and resume skirmish" buttons so they no longer work. Eventually it will go to the new loading logo and skip to the "load rendering" message where it freezes there. I believe I've had it both while I'm playing a skirmish as well as just sitting there in the menu screen waiting. Definitely know it's happened while playing a skirmish and it sucks you back in when a match is about to be launched. I'll pay more attention next time it happens though.

 

All of my matches were on beta 8. It's hard enough getting a QM going in the regular version!

I've only done it once, but haven't played again.  I was playing a skirmish before it happened.

Yes, I am Faressa on steam.

Here is the log file to a point.  It then repeats the last 4 lines MANY times and finally has some clean up things when I kill the application (apparently).  When I say many times, I mean the log file is 6.4 megabytes.

Tonight it's happened 100% of the time while I play a skirmish while waiting for a match. I've killed OTC 4 or 5 times after it finds me a 1v1 match and then freezes up.

So, we found out that there is absolutely a bug involving playing a skirmish while waiting for your Quick Match, so I would recommend not doing that until we have it fixed. Sorry!

Unfortunately not actually limited to playing the skirmish while you wait. I had the same problem launching a quickmatch without playing the skirmish today.

Were you looking for a match for awhile or had you just hit quick match? (If its the latter, then perhaps your opponent was skirmishing?)
