So I have seen quite a few recent skins for WB that I would like to use that say they are for windows 7 only in the skinners comment. What are the problems that will appear if I try to run them on my Vista machine? Will there just be parts of the GUI that don't get skinned properly? Will it crash WB? Will it make parts or all the Vista interface unusable?

I'm sorry to hear that about David. He was always a great guy; and a great skinner. you can find his email and snail mail here: http://www.lightstreamdesign.com/oldsite/contact.html

Wow! These are truly lovely. Very light and ephemeral as opposed to your normal dark and heavy styles. The sign of true artistic talent is the ability to produce work in many different styles/mediums and excel at them all. The bottom one is my favorite in the set.

Snowy, as a nurse I can tell you that distraction techniques are a great non-pharmacological form of pain relief. So take your mind off your pain by making something pretty for us! [e digicons];P[/e]

Mellissa, that really should have been a private message to Island Dog rather than a public post for all to see because you say your issue is not with the skins themselves or the skinners as you stated in your post; it is with ID's selection of these skins over other contenders for the week. Constructive comments are one thing, but the way you worded most of your post is not only rude to the skinners, but downright inflammatory. Topped off by the fact you weren't even brave enough to

Jafo, you freakin' rock! Thank you! I don't believe a word these people around here say about you. [e digicons]:-"[/e]

Don't the ads generate at least some amount of revenue for the site just by being loaded in the users browser? If not, I'll gladly click a few ads each day to help support the site. I just can't afford the $10 right now seeing as I am a starving college student living off his slightly fed college student / part-time worker boyfriend and a few scholarships. [e digicons]:erk:[/e]

The best buy ad seems to be fixed for me now. I was able to close it just now with the X. It isn't popping up when I close that page and reopen it to make sure that it won't be a problem next time; but it's certainly progress. Thanks, ID. [e digicons]k6[/e] @Ace, no problem. Happy browsing. [e digicons]:D[/e]

Ace, to be ad-free, you need to subscribe to wincustomize ($9.99 a year). You have Current Customer status on your profile page. That gives you unlimited downloads, but not ad-free browsing. And yeah, that's the ad I was talking about too. I can click that X until the [e digicons]:moo:[/e] s come home and it refuses to go away.

Actually I haven't been able to 'X' that ad out either. I have to stop the page loading and then refresh the page in order to be able to see the main page. I use Opera on Vista 64. I don't mind loading the normal ads because I know it generates revenue for the site; but that one is kind of annoying. Hopefully it will be gone after the "2 day only sale" is over.
