Oops, sorry Don, I guess I mis-understood your problem. Mormegil is corrent, though, once your candidate is selected, user the right mouse button to select the State you want to move him to. No dragging needed! ;)

How about I write something before posting, eh? ;) The Renegade: - The Windows incombatabilities are caused with an error in the 3d Font Manager. It should be fixed within the next two builds. - Getting the Metaverse to work isn't high on the priority list, unfourtunatly :( It'll be in later in the Beta period. Don Bemont - Make sure you have enough Stamina to move your candidate. Also, press 'C' to quickly se

Hey guys! Thanks to everyone for the quick feedback. We appologize to anyone that can't get the game to run...CTD's will be of highest importance as we work on the beta, so keep posting those System Spec's and we'll try and get the problems fixed. :) I suspect poor texture management with low-memory video cards may be at fault, but we'll have to do some testing to be certain. As for gameplay issues... - The 'Options' screen is not
The Beta's been released for Drengin.Net users today. However, while it's fairly playable, the Beta lacks some major features and polish that will make the final release a much more solid game experience. If you want to join in the creation process, however, it's available to anyone with a Drengin.net account! The more, the merrier! And yes, Mid-May is the "Gold" target date
We'll definalty be including a breakdown of how the game played itself out. Fancy cutscenes are well-and-good for the first few wins, but I definatly agree: nothing's better that seeing that statistical road map to victory
Yeah, we're definatly hoping the game will find its way into the hands of students eventually. I remember playing "Where in the World is Carmen Sandeigo" and "The Oregon Trail", and while I spent more time writing silly sayings on tombstones with the later, the "Where in the World" series had me hooked for years, and certainly taught me about bother geography and culture throughtout the world. I imagine multiplayer being used with g
One thing we definaly encountered with some of the other Political Games on the market was the definate overwhelming amount of numbers being presented to the player when they first start up. Same is true with the issues available to speak out on...there are hundreds of items a candidate could realisticly talk about in a race for the presidancy. Hopefully we've been able to streamline the pr
Very nice! One of our best, IMO. One suggestion though. I dont know if this is due to image compression, or a stylistic choice, but I think I'd prefer the other letters in 'Creator' (other than the 'o') to be smooth and antialiased. If you want to match the rough texture of the green line, I suggest pushing it even more, since right now it looks almost like a mistake (ex. text smoothing was set to 'None' in Photoshop). That's my only negative comment! Excellent work! :)
Well, It's been a while so I better make up my lost Worklogs in one fell swoop. ;) Last week Jen and I got our Condo, which I why I was gone last Friday. Dispite the long weekend, I managed to get a nice chunk of work done on 'The Political Machine'. -Find Game Screen now uses a fancy Editfield listbox, allowing us to display Player Name, Ping, Server Name, Game Speed, ect. i
Yeah, you nailed this one Paul. :) Nice work! I can't wait to see you're take on the other screens!
Oh, you'll get those screens ;) Sorry it's been taking so long, though...slowly but surely, they're comin' :(
Yeah, welcome to 'da party! ;) Having you around should me a happier, less stressed out Kris...which is good for everyone :)
OK, my schedule is finally focusing on Political Machine again. Luckily, Joe has been working on the Multiplayer part of the game for the last few weeks now, so that's shaping up nicely. My current task is to take all the screens Mr.Boyer has been working on and get them functioning within the game. This is not fun. :( However, Paul is pretty knowledgeable and organized, so I think we can develop a solid procedure to get these screens from conception (Paul)
I think they've officially done it. For years, game developers have tried to make a video game that has the broadest appeal possible. While Sid Meyer tapped gold with "The Sims", and "Roller Coaster Tycoon" had a very wide appeal, I think Sony has raised the bar with their newest interactive plaything: the "Eye-Toy". THe premise is simple-attach a PS2 specific Web Cam up to your Playstation2. You and a group of friends then take turns playing a series of mini-games where your actual bo
A little over three months after it's engine was started , the flash game I've been working on, "Northpole Showdown", is finally done . Well, as my associate Cari always likes to p
The original build the got released had a bug where the Intro cutscene would play instead of the Ending cutscene. You can fix this problem by re-downloading the game. Sorry about the bug.
So perhaps the name wasn't the most clever, but the 3rd installment to my series of Christmas games was designed to be a monster. Armed with an level editor, multiple paths to victory, and 2-player Contra style game play, "Elf Force" was going kick the crap out of my last two games - and it'd have more robots (see below). <img
It didn't take long after Stack 'n Sac was completed that I was already spilling over with ideas for a sequel. I had tasted the sweet nectar of having something I personally created played by thousands of people (I think the final download count at CNET was well over 10,000...and I would've been ecstatic at 1000!). Ideas of side-scrolling shooters with rpg elements, full cutscenes and
Next Week I'll be taking a trip back down "Elves Inc." lane (which I beleive both you and I remember fondly, especially for the body-checking and butt stomps). Then during the 2nd week of November I'm gonna give a look into the side scrolling monster I couldn't quite tame last year (Map editor and all) and try to export some running exe's that people can mess around with. Hopefully, come the 3rd week of November, the new XMas game will be finishing up and I can start getting the "Hype
As work steadilly progresses on our newest XMas game installment, I'm going to take a look back on some of the previous game's we've whipped up (and hopefully stir up some excitement for the new game, which I hope will turn into a solid little title). :) My first adventure in holiday gaming, "Stack 'n Sac" was a throwback to the simpler days of interactive electronic entertainment. The premise was simple...you (Elfington) and
The other day I was chatting with Joe about making games with flash, when he brought up an game idea his wife had suggested a while back. It would be a flash app where younger students would learn how to spell words when given auditory and visual clues. This kind of thing is pretty straightforward to implement in flash, so I whipped up the program. It's not nearly done, but the basics are in there (picking a random word out of the available words, dragging letters to the given slots, and chec
We've been having some fun doodling up concepts for one of the more "major" major races in the sequel to GC. They’re an evil race (hence the prevalent spikes), with a taste for the finer things in the universe (the Life Force of other creatures, Grilled Stuffed Burritos, ect). Enjoy! <IMG alt="DL01" src="https://www.joeuser.com/sdfi
lol! Nothing like a clever narritive to drive home a point ;)
I really do like how the rings are progressing..the only thing we really need are specific rings per planet texture, and I'll get those to you tomorrow (If you could email me the textures we're using at the moment). GC2's engine is getting pretty exciting :)
