Frogboy: I like your idea of a leech fund. Certainly anyone preaching that the site should have free, unlimited bandwidth for everyone would be more than willing to contribute to this fund. Otherwise, they'd be a hypocrite, and I'm sure that can't be true.

I disagree, TasT. I think it's great that Brad is opening it up for discussion. It means our opinions count, and it gives this place more of a community atmosphere. If you're sick of it, and you don't think it will affect you anyway, then feel free to ignore it.

I ran a BBS for years, first on an Atari 800XL, and several generations later, ending on an Atari Falcon. Although it was a great love of mine and at the time I couldn't imagine never running a BBS, eventually the internet kind of made it redundant and obsolete, and I lost interest (along with most of my callers). I tried to recapture the magic with a website, but it just wasn't the same. So now I'm just a lowly end-user. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/jok

Always funny how people are always so willing to spend the money of others. You whine about having to "empty your wallet" (only if your wallet is extremely thin), but you have no problem expecting them to empty their wallets with free, unlimited bandwidth. The selfishness of some people is amazing.

Although clearly the U.S. took the brunt of the terrorists' blow, it's amazing how many countries were hit. I think that accounts for at least some of the widespread sympathy and support.
