As a kid my grandfather and I would always play chess together, now I'm a fairly decent player. The best way to get better at chess is to sit down and play with another person. When the game is over point out the mistakes that the other player made, and have him/her do the same. It's just like everything else in life, practice is everything.

I can't think of any mistake in my life that I would change, for one reason alone. I learned lessons from every one, and I wager you learned quite a lesson with yours also. Mistakes are just corrections on bad choices in the future.

When ever I was to be punished as a child my mother generally handled it, and by handling it, she smacked me to next week and back with a wooden spoon. Believe it or not I think there still might be hope for this kid yet. While he will continue to make the life of his peers hell throughout highschool, when he hits college, there will be a mighty wake up call. I've seen countless kids that think they are all that, bomb, and learn that friends can't be bought. It may be nice to be financially set, but it's a bummer to be lonely.
