Thanks for your reply Loca. It totally makes me feel like I am not an insane, insensitive raving b****. This is the attitutde that my husband tells me I should have. I'm trying to decide if I should talk to my family about this or not. My mom is having surgery tomorrow and I don't want my sister to fall off her bliss cloud. By the way, did I mention that I have a reputation in my family for being the selfish one? Mayb
I have been planning since last May to go to a writer's conference in May in Daytona. Since I started to write seriously (as in career not topic), I have tried to make this kind of thing a priority. Everyone in my family knows this. But with bills piling up (condo to be repaired, tax re-assessment), it was getting chancy if I could go at all. Then the happ
Spent about 3 hours today in Yodobashi Camera looking at photograpy equipment, bags, film, paper. What fun! Of course, can't buy most of the stuff, but even trying to make decisions of what was essential was good fun. Bought: paper, film, cheap portfolio style book, book about clay animation scoped out: buying stuff to develop film
If a teacher is NOT teaching the students the subject they are paid to teach, they are nothing but thieves, cashing paychecks they didn't earn. I agree with this, but I find the idea that students record teachers disconcerting because of the possiblity for taking things out of context and blowing perfectly innocent statments all out of proportion
Okay, I finally figured out how to link pictures to JU (thanks to Jamie Burnside and Little Whip), but most browsers can't read anything from the kodak ophoto. Which online photo service do you use? Do you like it? What is good/bad about it? I am anxiously awaiting your opinions! <!-- Ju-Anchor-Footer-
Lots of work today and I even found time to develop a roll of film. I finally got two rolls of film onto their respective reels. The one I thought I screwed up ended up being the one that worked best. Biggest problem: I dropped the can and one reel came half out and chemical everywhere. So I have one roll of film that only has half the picture on each fra
cool stuff. your gadget sounds like a good investment of time and money. Your friends are gonna be so jealous!
That's how I like to start my day... with a little chase the chicken!
I thought it was a good article. Thanks for going through that mountain of information.
Today was a bit of a slow start, but it is finishing up okay. I went out to Jogashima and did some more work on my photography project. Waves were supposed to be higher today, but weren't. Light was completely different... dark and cloudy rather than brilliantly sunny. I got there about 3:30 which would have been perfect for the kind of shadows I w
My brother doesn't like a woman who wears a lot of makeup for a girlfriend (he may enjoy looking, not sure). He looks at the makeup and hair and thinks one thing... OMG HIGH maintenance. He likes when women make an effort to look good, but there's a point where it morphs into some dangerous area.
OK. time to get serious. Projects that I am working on: 1) novel 2) short story 3) novel set in Tokyo 1) rock series for photography 2) shooting stock photography (portfolio) due end of April 3) different types of photo printing and portrait work 1) clay movie writing: 1) novel a) reread what I've do
I just finished watching all 7 seasons last week. Whew! That was quite a marathon. Lots of things now make sense to me. Willow being gay totally makes sense to me now. And the whole Spike thing. NOW I get it. I quite liked Spike in the end and didn't think that I would. Had a really great arguement/discussion about whether Riley was to clingy and whiney or not. She said "yep" and I said "no." I like to be able to discuss relationship
I usually smile and say hi to people. Especially other foreigners in Tokyo. It's weird, but a lot of them avoid eye contact. Like what, are they trying to be inconspicuous in Tokyo? Sheesh. Isn't it better to recognize someone then continue to be isolated? But a lot of weirdos talk to me and hubby says it is because I look people in the eye. Maybe so. I guess I've still got those small town Saskatchewan manners I learned from my mom an
poking at your eyeball gets easier with experience. Soon you will be an expert at putting those pesky contacts in and out. I have a really strong eye reflex. Problematic when getting treated for eyelid stuff as Dr.s have a hard time flipping the eyelid and I have a hard time not blinking them back. Contacts took forever, then I had to switch to soft (which required more poking about then simply pulling on the eyelid) but I was able to do it eventua

once a person is repentant, I can't imagine anything closer to Hell than the knowledge of what you had done I totally agree with this. I also think that with true repentance, that "full life" of criminal behavior is not something to look back on with fond memories. Also, I don't think that just because you say "I repent" that you get
Maybe first impressions are not always the right ones... I'll cut you a little slack on this ( ) AOL did a quick, early article on it and it was not flattering to her. Later articles were more balanced in the reporting
I often feel like I have a big "M" on my forehead for "easy mark". My husband says it's because I have "a bad habit of looking people in the eye." sheesh
But now I want to check out the whole Faith thing, so it is back to season 3 on the weekend
I think it would have been more selfish of her to continue to compete with an injury if it meant her not doing well and taking away the chance that someone else could do better. Injuries can be strange. If she could have competed, she would have been sure bet for a medal. And that go-ahead wasn't just given on her "i can skate" say so. I think it's too bad the injury got worse instead of better. It is not unheard of for athletes to
snatch defeat from the jaws of victory." Oh, I like that one! That was a weird week when that happened. Lots of people (as I heard so not just my perception) were being weird and cranky.
I asked for a whole bunch of books and dvd's when hubby went on business trip to us last week. And did I score!!!! I got Firefly, a couple of seasons of Simpsons and the WHOLE Buffy series. Let me say this again... THE WHOLE DVD SET!!!!! THat is how many hours of viewing? about 22 episodes per season (45 minutes each) so about 16 hours per seaso
I have an english language operating system, so for me it is a foreign language. But yoo're right. It is mewho is out of step with the all the gadgets here.
