The package was created using only skins that were downloaded. Nothing on my HD. I verified that none of the components were on my PC and tried to apply the theme. (available on request via email). I was prompted to download the skins . . and then nothing.
Noted by us and developer. We will be fixing.
Thank you for the positive feedback. Please use it and let us know what you find. Please post any issues you find here. https://forums.stardock.com/328973 So we can clean them up before Object Deskop 2009 launch.
I see a My Colors tab...Is there a way to install My Colors themes without the My Colors program?
That is a good question, we will have to think about how to handle that.
I dunno if i should laugh or cry... the frigging Impulse made a nice little mess of things. It installed the patch... for GC2, NOT Twilight. Yes the Twilight's patch is in wrong place... but it did reset my settings for TA. Thank you for messing up everything... NO NO NO (forget the above)... the thing's absolutely ****** up.... I'll uninstall the game and star all over again. See if that fixes this. If not, well.... And why i can't stop the update from Impulse? I
OK. Definately fixed this time. Took some extra kicking.
Please give Impulse a shot again today and let me know if the synchronization worked. We had a synchronization job fail on the server.
Now the only problem I have is that the icons are not applied.
Did some of your icons apply? Are you running Vista? We have an intermitant issue that we are addressing with Microsoft where some of the icons sometimes do not get set up in the icon cache. We are working with Microsoft to resolve this issue. In the mean time you can close Explorer, delete the icon cache and reboot to resolve the issue. (Tip: To close Explorer gracefully with
Fanciful wish: Stardock spins off Impulse and sells to Microsoft; it becomes part of the GfW initiative and a de-facto industry standard.
We have some plans for potential integration of GfW functionality inside of Impulse that will give gamers even more options.
I personally just hate the MyColors system, and above all if all MyColors theme (even free) have WindowBlinds encrypted images, whatever quality are the skins, I just don't care because i can't do ports for my own use (and/or for others ...) and Stardock can keep them ...
Going forward we are including a ZIP file for download with the extracted (unencrypted) contents of the .MyColors file for our ODNT customers only.
We have a fix for Impulse that will be released this week. Stay tuned.
Please post any bugs or workarounds here.
WindowBlinds 6.30 has been released!
i think the first thing to do, is finish updating apps for vista, that had release dates of last year. lets not go crazy adding all kinds of new stuff when several of the old apps don't work yet on vista properly
This is a general goal to either move applications forward when possible (and support 64-bit, that is a focus for us in 2009). However some applications like IconX are just too difficult to pull off in Vista. WindowFX however may be a possibility
For Icon Packager, the ability to save some specific icons regardless of the package. ( or do we have it already, just that i don't know of it ?)
You can do this with IconDeveloper if you have ODNT Ultimate.
Don't discontinue/forget RightClick would be my greatest wish.
Right click will get a freshening for 2009.
DeskScapes: for xp!
Another thing we plan on doing. :-)
I'd like to see a Bootskins for Vista....so I can stop using Tuneup Utilities for the boot screen.....thanks.
First off I want to say thank you for all of these suggestions. I have been reading through them, but it has been a busy week here at Stardock so I have not been able to respond. Bootskin for Vista? I think we can do that one for sure. :-) Keep the suggestions coming!
Now what I want is something similar to the Stardock Central Tray utility (but for Impulse), so that I can know when updates are available. Get me that, and I'll retire SDC.
Will do in Impulse 3.30 (our next phase). :-)
