I'm kinda bored and I do love these message boards. So how bout some conspiracy theories that anyone wants to share. You can add to someone's or just create your own, but try to explain why your theories are probable. I'll start. (disclaimer: these are just for entertainment, hope no one gets taken by the greys and anally probe for knowing too much) The World is divided by secret societies. -In America, the Masons are in control. The Masons themselves are divided into different

Trolls??!! i only thought they live under bridges.. Guess Message boards have become their new homes. It's kinda weird that no matter who's president and who's in control, no dramatic change occurs from within the country unless an external event forces it upon us. Well, not since the Civil War. Kinda gives fuel to the conspiracy theories.
After reading Draginol's blog regarding the 1992 democratic takeover, I find myself agreeing with him. I am a republican, but I consider myself a California Republican or what I like to call a Schwarzenegger-Republican. Thats means I'm an econimic-conservative and a socio-liberal. Anyways, People put too much focus on politcal parties now-a-days. Especially on national elections, people forget that what really matters is the local elections which can affect our lives day by day. Sur
Sweet.. thanks
Draginol, whats your blog site? I enjoy reading political views from all points of views.
I actually liked the Minor races from the first Galciv. They threw in a good suprise to the mix. Maybe someone can clarify this for me. What's the difference between the minor race and major races? (Story wise) Not asking about the game mechanics itself, but story wise.
This just sounds too confusing. The feature isn't even out yet. Maybe we should wait a while before we jump the gun.
Well, hopefully, someone that can set the polls would find this interesting and do it. You know, a good feature would be if you could have individual polls in the threads. I've seen this on other message boards. Curious if it is feasible here.
Galciv 3???? OH MAN!!!!!!! I dont know if i could wait that long... Well, I think if we can get vocal enough, we might have a slight chance that we maybe (hopefully) can see it in a future expansion. As an added note: I believe that Galciv 3 does not need to come out even after 2 expansions. GC2 already seems to be very versitile. How bout putting a hold on GC3 and just build expansions af
Super Dreadnought sounds cool especially with a "Hero" unit. Kinda like having Darth Vader and his Super Destroyer on your side. Also, maybe if we assign a captain to a space station, that station would get a bonus. Kinda like Deep Space 9.
Ultimate Edition... Is that like an expansion or do we have to buy the game at full price again to gain the MP option? I also like the idea of only a MP expansion so if I decide that I dont' want it, i can skip buying it and still not worry that i'll miss out on some SP stuff. But I think MP might be fun. Knowing that there's the human factor on the other end. The worst thing is waiting for the other guy to click turn.
They already have a level system. It's right above the stats. The point is the captains, not the experience.
There are levels for ships that survive constant combat. Once my ships get to level 3 I officially ditch the GSID (Generic Ship ID) and crescen some fanciful name. I actually name every ship that comes out of my shipyards. Except for the small and tiny hull size. I actually had one large hull ship that started to gain high amount of experience
I tried searching the forum on the heroes subject and couldn't find any. So how bout it Stardock? There any plans for this?
I'm not sure if this one is beating a dead horse. But how bout heroes. I would like to see "hero" units in the game. Or the very least, captains who we could assign to captain our ships. They would be able to earn experience and gives the ships bonus. If they do lose a battle, they would escaped and return to our captain's list to be assign on another ship. One thing thought, if they do lose a battle, they should lose experience. Also, there is a chance they can die instead of escaping.<b
Get an ATI 9600xt, i think they go around $30 to $50. Not a big investment to get a descent graphic for this game. Note, check if its on an AGP slot or not. Ram, well.. it depends, um.. Find out what type of ram you got. They are usually SDRAM, DDR, or DDR2. If you still got the manual for your PC, it should say. If your motherboard is old, you might have to get 4 256MB ram stick since the older motherboards can't read more than 256s. My advice, take that pc to a mom and pop PC
That's true.. But when i get interested in something, I like to learn it. I do that by asking questions. And I am interested in learning programming, hench the my vast knowledge of making the "hellow world." program. I don't have time to go back to class, so i'm stuck with books. Problem is you can't ask books any questions. But yes, I understand how frustrating it can be. So no worries there. Sorry for any misunderstanding. Oh, if haven't noticed, i like to compare thing
How much harder would it be to implement a hotseat option compared to the upgrade we recieved that gave us more flexibility with ship design? was my original question. I was not being sarcastic. I was really asking if was harder. It would similar to asking a mechanic how much harder it is to change an engine compared to changing the transmissi
Enjoy.. and tell your kid.. Happy Bday from all of us.
It's called EVE Bah.. You ever played mankind? Not face of mankind. Just mankind. Their address is mankind.net. Would be great to see something like it with Galciv story.
Kapeman, thats good to know. MOO3 wasn't that bad. I actually enjoyed a few of the features including the tactical combat. The primary thing i didn't like was that you had to travel through a specific path. And the governor screen and all that was a bit too complicated. All the other features would've been great. I still enjoy the aliens and the story of MOO3.
Sorr Also, maybe I shouldn't have made the comment about "go code your own game" but we've replied to posts like this several times, and we made a sticky, and I'm really sick of people thinking that we can just throw in multiplayer. Sorry. But I'm not demanding for multiplayer? I'm just joining a discussion on the viability of multiplayer.. In p
That's not the same thing. Stardock go without copy protection, they gain marketshare for nothing. If the multiplayer poll was accurate, then they don't gain enough marketshare and profit for it to have been a viable use of time, thus they lose money. I forget.. what was the survey number result?
Kyro, quick question. I'm not an expert on game design and programming, but you might be. How much harder would it be to implement a hotseat option compared to the upgrade we recieved that gave us more flexibility with ship design?
Stardock had a survey that stated 25% of the market won't buy games with copy protection. In summery, stardock argued that even the loss of 25% of the market is too much and so they point that by not having a CD copy protection, they can capture that 25%. Now, take the Multiplayer demand.. Is the loss of what ever percentage marketshare Stardock isn't getting because of the lack of MP a loss they could ignore? That's the question Stardock has to answer for themselves.
