I'm running WB 10.74 on Win 10 17134.rs4_release.180410-1804 (WB About) on my newest notebook and the taskbar has no transparency even with both WB setting to far left for this and transparency selected for taskbar in Win 10 taskbar settings. The issue appears to be Personalization > Colors. I don't see a way to turn off this option so WB transparency is visible.
I'm not understanding the reference to real skins. I have a few dozen skins that all load without issue. I do modify some skins to tweak colors of some elements and save as new skins. Have never used textures. I have no idea why these same skins in WB 10.62, although displayed along with the WB default ones, would not actually change Win 7 appearance despite appearing to load.
Yes. did the reboot and then installed WB 10.62. This morning finally gave up trying to get skins to apply and uninstalled WB10, rebooted and then reinstalled WB 7.41. Skins applied without problem and taskbar transparency works as before. Also, WB icon appeared in (hidden) notification location without rebooting. And the WB interface is so much better than the pseudo-Win 10 of current version. I'll not ask for my $10 back because I like the company and the apps I use (Object Dock, CursorFX).

Ah, I didn't realize the current updates were for both Win 7 and 10 (I have both, 10 is a notebook). I also ended up creating two batch files as launch buttons to rename wblind and then rerename when done with media player. That works, but if I forget the latter, then when rebooting Win 7 with wblind renamed, skin components at top of display don't load correctly. I'll try upgrading to newest version of WB.

Try opening task manager, selection View and then Column Options at bottom of drop-down menu under View. There are all kinds of column options with checkboxes, similar to Windows Explorer, View, Choose Details.
Both the task bar right-click and ctrl-shift-esc are direct to task manager, which I should hope to remember. But I've been using crtl-alt-del for well over two decades -- my fingers are moving before my brain catches up. [e digicons]:O[/e] [e digicons]:)[/e]
Well, your instructions worked quite nicely upon opening task manager with good old ctrl-alt-del. Lots of processes but handles values are quite modest. The highest was vsmon at just under 3500. Very few above 1000. I guess that's good news. But something to keep in mind if the computer seems slower than normal. Do you simply restart the system when a process or more is above 30,000? Cheers
Just read the February 2017 newsletter, and was curious about the little piece on handles. In particular, the part about "bring up task manager (ctrl-shift-tab), go to Details and then add the Handles column." I've never opened task manager with anything but ctrl-alt-del, and ctrl-shift-tab doesn't do anything in Win 7 on the desktop. Given that there's no Details in task manager, I'm wondering if you're referring to something else? Or am I missing something even more obvi

I noticed that the pressed state png files were not the new color but the original color (before cursor locked), so I replaced them with the new ones, saved the theme and the problem seems to have gone away. I hesitate to say this, but that seems to have seemingly solved the issue, although I can't figure out why. The original and new pressed state png files are identical

This worked...thanks for tip. I also discovered something else in the process. The pinned app title included that it was a GNU open source text editor, and when I couldn't find a way to shorten this, I searched in registry editor, found it and modified the lnk name. Just in case anyone wants to change or modify the link name shown in the start menu.
So if I don't create a desktop shortcut it won't see the application? This app, a text editor, doesn't have an installation. It just needs to be unzipped into a folder.
Highly experienced Windows user (since 3.x), and just added Win 10 laptop to Win 7 64 desktop. Installed Start10 and love it (have used Window Blinds of many years), but it only seems to find Programs, not Programs(x86), and I have a lot of 32-bit apps. I've looked for setting for this but can't find it. Where should I be looking? For now I have to pin x86 apps to taskbar, which I prefer not do. What am I missing?

Thanks for the replies. I'm finally beginning to understand the mechanics of the process. This seems to confirm my wish for a visual guide to what file is for what UI component, although any variation in naming files would be a problem. The flashing state comment was helpful. When I mouseover the taskbar graphic it does change from light gray to light yellow, so that would be the two states when doing this on Windows taskbar. I see 10 taskbar-related graphic

So you're suggesting I import buttons I like from another skin to replace those in this one? I don't see any import function other than "Force image reimport" in upper right-hand corner. I have Photoshop as editor, so I could copy and paste into file there, but I could also just go to folder itself, open the tga file in question and do the same. Among the skins I like the most is Xandar, except for the white-background buttons on the black task bar and notification area. So I loaded it into SSP and tried to find the taskbar buttons that I could then change to a nice darkish gray. The ones I thought were them changed the color of entire sections of the taskbar, so that wasn't it. What I really could use is a visual guide to what the tga file is for each Windows component. Ah ha. Thanks much for pointing the way. Would the text input box background color be the window background color? If so, I'm assuming that when the box color isn't specified on the web page, the default background color appears instead. Lots to learn.
Here's the skin I'm trying to fix. Can I assume edit box is the background for those text input fields that are too dark? Oddly, there's no consistency.
