Very cool, I like the images and that there are new core abilities for them. The only one that stands out as death though is Isolation for the Tlec. Getting cheaper starbase modules is not even close to making up for being unable to colonize new planets. A single planet race will lose every time to any other race out there. A single planet just can't compete with an empire. Even on a tiny, rare hab map you'd be at a severe penalty.

OMG, we know! There is something called a political boundary.. cross that with military and you're in for war. I'm not arguing that your influence should be the hard border, though I might prefer that, I'm arguing for a seperate political boundary that does prevent military ships (a troop transport or anything with a gun) from entering my political boundary without war or open borders between me and them. Also, your thinly veiled insult at the bottom

So you have to have a single military ship adjacent to an enemy planet during war for this to take effect? Sounds reasonable actually. To be clear, you mean that anything of the planets that contributes to your global empire would be cut off (research/credits/production for shipyards but definitely not influence) but would still be available locally. Then comes some further questions: Say you're blockading me, my planet is completely cut off. Does this mean that I can't use my

That yellow aura is awesome btw. Despite the fact the Emperor professed against his Godhood, prior to his interment in the Golden Throne for Eternity, his cult managed to turn him into one. So he'd only ever of had that glow in pictures from later millennia. Though it was always said that he was so awesome to behold that people would be struck dumb at the sight of him. Regardless, super cool.
+100500 Beats me why we even have borders if nobody gives a damn about them. That said, currently Culture=Influence=Borders. If we want a more strict border system it'd be wise to separate the concept of borders and "staked" territory form the concept of culture and influence. Mixing them would go sideways both ways. You shouldn't loose borders with influence, only with actual border source that was lost. Nor sho
SHOULDNT there be a BLOCKADE mechanic? Nothing gets on/off the planet. The planet, should have to fully sustain itself, and no science/money (and even production, if you are human with those crazy decay rates) gets off the planet. Because of no blockade function, losing one of my best planets, being held hostage, was just a nuisance, and I'm sure it as well fouled up the AI's war plan.
You r

Wait... that's what those numbers mean, number of techs researched?! I was never able to ken that. That is prime fodder for a new tooltip right there. Why wouldn't it mean anything in practice? Wouldn't doubling that number make your age about 30%-50% longer, assuming you continue to build out research? Edit- Does this mean that each race enters the new age at different times depending on how many techs they've researched?

You know, I think it was like a decade ago or something, but I think I uncovered that fact similarly to how you did, now that I think about it. Knew it from Trek and then was like whaaaaaat when I found out it's a real star. Memory is hazy though.

No rush, just the fact that you are doing this is wonderful. I'd rather you take your time than it be a rush job anyway. You rock!

So, I couldn't resist. Here are the urls for the various images. I left out the Imperium, Chaos Undivided, Necrons, and Orks for obvious reasons. Some of these may not be the best for cutting into portraits. Feel free to find better ones, these are just to get you started. Though some of them are pretty sweet. @Abaddon64 same goes for you if you know of better images than these. <a href="http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammer40k/images/b/b2/Grandfather_Nurgle.jpg/revision/l

1) That's the premise of the Terrans coming back to the Universe... so check for Stardock? If/when the Dreadlords are reused they'll have their own expansion/DLC. 2) I like this idea but anything requiring unity of the races to deal with is going to end badly for everyone unless you're playing in the snuggles and rainbows galaxy. I'd prefer a galactic event that each race has to deal with in their own way. This is a good candidate for an Ideology event. 3) Spac
