Hey GalCiv1 had "space sharks" I was sooo happy seeing them they got special rangerships to protect them in my games if they showed up Perhaps this time they brought along the "space dolphins " ,"the space squids" and perhaps the "space frogs (directly realted to the deadly "star frogs")

I liked somehow the way MOO2 showed the battle on the ground. Sure you could bomb a lanet into the stoneage from the orbit but if you would like to capture it intact this should take some time. The tielsystem would be perfect shwoing how a planet slowly is conquered tile by tile.... Well I will know how GalCiv2 handles this topic soon enough.

Well, I can only talk from my perspective. As a kid I had a C64 and lot of pirated games. Still I bought many games even then. Now as an still gaming adult with quite a good income I don´t want trouble. I don´t want to spent time around to look for pirated versions of a game etc. Time is for me important and I like my things convinient and easy. Point is the easy availabilty of software as a kid got me hooked on computergames. As an adult I am a qui

Well Homm 5 was a "buy" for me. Simply I will observe it now becaue yes "Starforce". - Ubisoft puts in its "Eula" that they are not responsible for any problems with Starforce => complaints should be directed at the "Starforce customer " support - Starforce homepage claims that there aren´t any problems. These are only claims from "international piracy groups" . Hmmm, how much support can I expect if I have some problems? - Starforce remains on your system

@Spearthrower : Yeah, something like this happened to me although. My dvd drive and a copy protection of a game didn´t work together. Customer support advised me to get another DVD drive Another thing which drives me mad is something that happened to me latley buying DVDs. some of them show me for the 30s up to 90s a legal advice about pirating of DVDs you can&#180

Well I would like to add: - IMHO the way for the "digital industry" should be: - Make the legal way the most convenient way to get a product. Offer benefits to your customes as stardock does (bonus pack /patches etc.) - Establish some kind of personal relationship with your customers. At least I feel after reading the comments / getting the impression of the work Stardock puts into this game / the time and dedictaion the the developer team shows that I would s

Personally I think Stardock with its support goes the right way. Therefore I feel releaxed about preordering the game knowing that I will get support if the game for some reason doesn´t run and I know the game will be supported for at least a few months after release. Patches , upgrades , balancing etc. I liked very much the idea of a very public beta. (Sometimes with other developers I have the impression they have something to hide) Worst experience in this area has

#10 by Citizen jpf190279 Wednesday, February 08, 2006 7:48:17 AM Hi I'm in the UK, if I wanted a retail collectors box version, how would I do able it? Would I just order it from my local game store or would I have to order it from a US retailer on the net? Also in regards to the temporary key if I pre-order t

Well, much of the fun of a multiplayer game is trashing your friends. Even playing Lan/Hotseat games with pizza, drinking beer etc. As Piranha pointed out no 4x TBS game has been really made for multiplayer. One thing which comes to my mind to is the separation of movement and building phase: In one turn a player moves his ships etc. meanwhile the other player is designing its ships / giving orders to its plaents reagarding building of units etc. ... Or simpl

Well imagine yourself what Stardock could make out Master of Magic. Master of Orion 3 unfinished (crappy) game but a huge sucess intially due to the name alone... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I only would want: Running on Windows / Good AI / true to the original but perhaps slight improvents. Would be one of the few games where I would preorder the game as soon a

I think its a great review. I especially liked the part of the debt eating up your budget. Don´t know how many hours I spend with MOO2. After reading this review I have thoughhhhh much anticipation for GalCiv2, oh cruel world make the time flow faster....

Well, congrats Stardock. Looking forward for GalCiv2 here in Germany There is still 1 question bugging me. Whats about Paradox and the extra content (tech tree, extra content: like ship components etc) will the european customers get these too? Unfortunately up to now nobody really answered the question. Still time for me to cancel my preorder from Paradox and go for digital download..... Though please somebody should know

Well, I hope the preorders in Europe from Paradox get at least some extra stuff. (At least the orders from Amazon.co.uk) If not we will ask our good friends the Torians and Altarians to bomb Stardock and Amerika to dust Well, I would like to say just to follow the game development has been very interessting and risen even higher my esteem for Stardock. Impressive project management, meeting all the deadlines, publ

Well, I will buy GC2 as soon as possible simply I love these kind of games. Still I am one of the se players who like to play tabletop boardgames, read a book , like good old roleplaying games and play old games as MoO2 , CIV2 , Strategic comannd online.... GC2 looks great and I hope it will be huge sucess, perhaps multiplayer could be then inclued in an expansion. (Scrap the editor I am not a creative player) Still my greatest wish would be that Stardock would develop
