What are the elements of LH that you guys like in particular?
I have to disagree with the above poster, though Endless Legend had great art direction, the graphics seemed to be washed out and almost blurry. Sorcerer King and LH are more vibrant and sharp and thus easier on the eyes. Frogboy, Stardock's work and focus on the AI is what I love the most. I was at times very close to

I always keep an eye on possible 4X games to add to my collection. Ever since Endless Legend came out and even until now, the AI is terrible. Absolutely terrible. Its too dumb for diplomacy, war, or even making use of all the game mechanics. And its been like this for a long time. For all the whining we do about stardock, they make these other games look really crappy. What the heck is the fun in playing a game with no challenge? It makes my blood boil seeing half assed 4X games selling so we

Am I correct in that were limited to beam weapons except the odd prototype until we fully research missile or kinetic weapons? Thanks for the advice too. I found that if I stuck to my diplomatic route, it took me a looong time to catch up militarily to everyone else, which seems odd in that even civilizations with research or economist mic focus have tons of ships and even then I was still behind lol. This is on gifted since I like the Ai being on full power with few benefits. I don't min

I usually go the diplomatic/trade route in the beginning to avoid any early wars but I find that by the time I get around to researching weapons, even with planets dedicated to research, I'm almost always far behind. Not only that, but I have no clue what a good fleet comp is. Any ideas to make me less ''ripe for conquest''?

Incorrect. They don't just blindly make a release then budget for updates on the fly. Before releasing a game, if Frogboys comments towards LH and galciv are of any indication, they always have a budget set aside for updates until a certain point. If they do not support a product fully after launch, regardless of its performance, they will lose customers and their reputation. Regardless, I'm not sure where you guys are getting this whole ''didn't sell well'' stuff.

I get that people can have moments of disappointment. That's fine. But lets be realistic here. Its a game in the end and since you've played it for so long, you've got your moneys worth. Take a step back, see that, be satisfied overall. There are certainly things that can be improved but no one comes close to stardock and that's why you and I will always keep coming back [e digicons][/e]

Just to clarify, I'm not trying to start a flame war. Secondly, I feel like it is disingenuous to say that I'm calling expression of opinion selfish. If you have a problem, by all means express it. However, the degree of emotion and volume of these opinions about something that is without a doubt a feature used by a small minority detracts from discussion about features the majority could use. When you see the forum clogged with posts about economy and the wheel, there's a problem

I remember reading that Frogboy or somone said that only a minority of players ever fully utilized the wheel. In fact, in its current state, the game's economic mechanics work for the majority of players. Everytime I come to this forum, economic debates litter it. Instead of seeing Frogboy and the other devs free to discuss other improvements such as cooler invasions, diplomacy, espionage etc that the MAJORITY of players will be able to appreciate, it seems like this ranting minority

Holy crap people. Get over it! Stop the debate about the damn wheel. I wish I could see discussion about something else for once because you'd think these people bought this game thinking it was an economy sim. I get that you can't min/max as tediously as you wanted but sheesh, go take over some planets and bully some minor races to vent your frustration.

Even changing the settings to ANYTHING other than the starting "low" settings doesn't save. I go into the menu, change it to high or custom, exit the graphics option menu at the main screen, go back into the graphics options and it's BACK to low. It's as if it isn't saving my settings.

I reinstalled galciv 3 and I set my resolution to 1400x900. But everytime I set the performance to enable lean maps, gel ui, antialiasing etc, and disable low rez textures, I restart the game and boom, it reverts back to low resolution settings. It wont save my settings no matter what I do!
