I've played a number of games where the winning player is defined by whomever hits the [+] button faster, and I'm pretty sure that ping plays a large part in how this shakes down. Spamming the [+] button to try and register your click with the host before any of the other clients do (don't even try to out-click the host) doesn't feel like a slick mechanic.

I finished my first campaign and uploaded a video to that effect (w/ a few opinion pieces after each match). - Good first stab at a campaign and the future looks bright after it has evolved. - Not a fan of the colony fail state; I don't think that it brings anything interesting to the game and ends up being little more than a disguised time limit. - Perk accumulation from round to round snowballs rather dramatically. Suggestion: keep the
The way it looks the prices are random and generated at mapstart. Well random, with certain range limits of raw and produced resources. Where raw resourrces cant be above a certain selling price - basically the prices are withing a min-max range.
IIRC Soren said on one of the streams that offworld prices are RNG and decided at the start of the match. I would like to see some sort of player agency when it comes

Placeholders. I kinda like them though, gives the game a quirky sort of character. There's probably a lot left to go in, aestheticly speaking. As yet there are no effects for the random events. I hope to eventually see the colour palette saturate during Solar Flares, a gentle waft of dust during dust storms, etc...

On one of the streams it was noticed that when you buy someone out your stock price fell slighty. This was seen as being a bug but given how the end game works I would not be so quick to throw that effect out. If your stock price fell after you buy someone out it makes buying someone out a more interesting proposition, and in some situations might turn into a mexican stand-off of sorts between the top two (three) players: who dares to make the first move? This would be good

The more I play the more Scientific seems to be the strongest option, with Scavenger coming in second, then Expansive, then Robotic. There are of course specific conditions where one HQ might do better than another but in the campaign at least, you're stuck with your first choice even if the conditions amount to an almost automatic loss. From the perspective of the campaign I'd say the imbalances^Hdifferences between the HQs becomes most apparent by virtue of a measure of

I like the breaks that Auctions provide. I also like the idea of having fixed intervals throughout the game. Perhaps even turning these fixed breaks into a mini-game of sorts, in much the same way that the Auction mini-game takes place, i.e., you have to divide your time betweeen the mini-game and your corporate 'stock take'. Perhaps the fixed break mini-game could have an influence on the prices everyone is likely to see on the Offworld markets; some sort of proje

Also, twice now I've seen several campaign maps that have one, low level Iron tile. Having only one T1 resource tile on a map certainly makes for a different kind of game but what I'm not sure about is if it makes for an enjoyable one. With everyone buying in Iron the price rises quickly and as a result the pace of the game slows right down and becomes a pretty gruelling slog. Not being able to change your HQ type after having scanned the map in the Campaign

Soren, Many thanks for your response. AI's starting with EMPs and the like most likely accounts for the chain EMPing/Dynamiting that I've experienced; when these things are chained back-to-back it is a very tough situation to recover from through no wrong-doing of your own - it's a bit like giving the opposition an automatic 2-3 minute head start. I've tried to keep an eye on the Colony status throughout, and you can just about see the Colony text

Tried to play the SP campaign. Either I'm missing something or it's too broken to be playable. - Several times maps have been all but barren with barely enough to keep one HQ running, let alone several. Ends up being a diceroll as to who gets the resource that ends up being worth anything; everyone else may as well give up immediately. - Lost count the number of times I've 'won' a Pirate auction only to see them raiding my own sup

I kinda like the text-to-speech voices; quirky. I guess it'll be one of those things that the early players will look back on (almost) fondly once they're replaced.

I went back and played the Scientific mission again (and again) to try and understand /how/ I won it, and I think I'm slowly coming round to the idea that Scientific isn't underpowered per sé; it's just extremely specific and is far more reliant on favourable map conditions than the other HQ types. Some of the key points to getting ones noggin around playing Scientific, I would say, are:- - found in the middle of a cluster of Fe, Al and

Channel updated with the remaining tutorials. Plenty of salty swearing on the Win as Scientific one! (Oh dear.) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3DtX1yb7BqMMkgEBGHpoX4yE0DMT9SXH A short comment given my experiences thus far:- The traditional purpose of a tutorial is to instruct; to educate the player in the ways of the game. The tutorials in Offworld don't do that; all they do is provide yo

I've just started to record me fumbling around in this brave new world so why not take a look and shout at how dreadful I am at this game:- I do plan to get better at it. Honestly!

Thanks Tiger. I'm definitely not showing OTC on my Stardock account Games page. Something has gone adrift. EDIT: Not Games page, Downloads. You know what I mean. ;)

I think I might be in a similar boat. I pre-ordered but the confirmation reciept email was sent to my PayPal email account and my Stardock account (different email) shows no mention of OTC; shows the other games I've bought tho (Fallen Ench., Sins etc.).
